So iv been digging up post from 2008 of bk manure. So this guy post about not pasteurizing this bag he bought from Wally world and it grew no problem. I'm a lazy butt and iv been scratching my head and wondering if any vets have tryed this. Honestly tired of boiling water and putting in buckets of bricked up coir. I mean breaking these bricks up nonstop with my weak hands is getting crazy. I'm trying to get advice I have searched it but it's very outdated. Since I'm getting back into this hobby and going to be running 10 tubs a week it would help not having to run 10 buckets on a saterday. Any ideas on if the BK will work or easy way for coir?

Yes it works, I'm currently working on a grow log right now and I used Black Kow, and did not pasturerize it. 2 Tubs in a modified mushroom cube kit are just about to pin. I even had some contam in an Uncle Bens bag, put it in a flower pot outside with unpasturized Black Cow, and I can see healthy rhyzo mycelium colonization.
It's risk/reward. You can do everything perfect, and possible get contam/failed grows, or you can *carpet bomb* (prepare a lot more than you planned on fruiting) and hope for the best.
I haven't harvested yet, but as of now things look promising.

Nice rizo I have tryed getting that pritty of ropes but it seems when I transfer it's always fuzzy the ropes. I'm gonna try the bk bag soon when I have a few jars to kill if it saves me time I don't mind paying a few bucks extra. I'm gonna start doing unmodified tubs soon. Please keep me posted on your grow and let me know how many flushes you had before contams. Of two flushes that's good anough for me.

Also forgot to add what size tub are you using was wondering how many 66qt tubs can that bag fill I mean hell if two tubs that's actually saving money in my book $8 for three bricks of coir. Plus hard work and boiling water. Vs. $5.23 for two tubs just dump and go!

it's only 2 16 Qt Tubs. I colonized after bulk spawn for 10 days (all dark no looking) with aluminum foil over the substrate (100% unpasteurized Black Kow) Might have a lot to do with the genetics though, these were multisport Uncle Bens Brown Rice bag inoculations.
Once I get successful flushes, I'm going to be putting a post in the Grow Log section.

I haven't used half the black kow bag. It's 1 Cubic ft for about 6 bucks at lowes. It's still in my garage in a box. I'm going to be spawning another 2 16 qt tubs when this next substrain finishes colonizing some straight brown rice that I boiled and pressure cooked. Hopefully 2 weeks or so.
