? For those hunting in Georgia
    #26959325 - 09/28/20 07:17 PM (3 years, 3 months ago)

On the list of actives noted to be found in Georgia there is one "pluteus americanus". Ive used the search feature to try and find others who have found it and there weren't many posts. Just wondering if anyone near middle Georgia has stumbled upon these and has photos.

Thanks for the link. Doesn't seem like this one is very sought after...you ever personally look for/find it?

I'm not a US resident so I  can't speak for this certain species, however it appears to me Pluteus species
rarely fruit in large numbers. Another thing is that there are probably a number of undescribed species that
look quite similar to the ones already known, so identification might take some extra effort.

They are apparently also just moderately potent.

All in all it seems to be a genus for the specialists.
