What is your ambient temperature? Unless it's seriously cold your jars will be fine without.

I also got the notion about the hemisphere getting cold/er so I also opted for providing some extra cosiness for the developing mycelium. I believe I saw this done somewhere on youtube, forgot about the TEK name if there is one, and I unfortunately cannot pay proper respect to original author and ''copyrights'' because I did not invent this setup, but here it goes:
you take two identical tubs, any given size, to fit your cups/jars/seedlings in. Because usually tubs are designed to fit into one another perfectly, while fully ''locked'', some space remains at the bottom. Which is perfect for water to go there and close the gap and create contact with the ''floating'' tub that contains your seedlings but is otherwise of course dry. You put the cover on, or not, whatever you experience fits the most. You put your heating mat underneath all of that. Now you're basically heating that water (which takes a little longer to heat up but will regulate and retain that heat a lot better) which in turn, through conduction, very uniformly, heats the bottom and some of the sides, of your seedling containing tub. Hope it's somewhat clear and makes some sense. Here's some pics [image] [/image] [image] [/image] [image] [/image]

This was answered in your other thread on the exact same topic. Please don't spam the forum up with multiple threads on the same topic
