Hey guys! Second time posting here! I've been doing agar for the first time, and i lost all of the plates to contam and some to not growing at all. So i decided to give it another go improving my sterile tek and using newer spores (first batch was from an old print), i inocc them on the 24th and today some plates are showing some transparent grow on the imprint of the streak i did with the loop, i didnt upload pictures cause you have to look it at the rigth angle to even see it and the cam was not helping haha. Does anyone know what this is? Is it contam or just young mycelium? Any input is greatly appreciated as i want to learn!

Depends IME. Probably just needs some time to develop a stronger mycelial network to be visible to the naked eye. I've had plenty of successful plates that started as invisible myc and changed to white after a couple of days.
Things to keep in mind:
- Some spore genetics go straight to thick white rhizo growth, others tomentose.
- Is the streak from a spore solution? You may need to do a few selective transfers before seeing the type of growth you want.
- Nutritional content of your agar slurry may play a role. Some folks swear by LME, ELME, Nutritional yeast, grain soak water, etc. It's up to you to experiment and figure out what mixtures & ratios give you the results you want. Personally, I use a 2% agar/2% ELME ratio for plates.

Oops, made my last post before seeing those pics. Can you take a pic of the under side of the plate and another of the top? Kinda hard to see with the light glare.

Thanks for the response! Maybe it is just invisible yet. For the agar i used 2% BRF cause i just had the stuff laying around and could not get my hands on Malt extract, but i hope on getting it and experience with it as well, read from several people that it is pretty much the standard for agar. The streak was made from the print directly onto the agar. I took the pics like that cause you cannot see it from the top nor the back! At that angle it's the only way haha. If you look carefully the 1st pic right below the red marker you can see it.

Cool, I'd say wait a few more days. When you take a wedge from that agar and xfer to a new plate, take it from a leading edge of your mycelium that's at least a few cm away from the edge of the plate. I wouldn't inoculate straight from this plate - one more xfer should clean up the culture a bit and give you a better idea of what mycelium sections are growing faster/stronger.
