My friend! That’s the only other mushroom I thought it could be as well!
Do they both give off a rusty powder like that?
Any key differences that your aware of?

My specimen doesn’t seem to have a ring on the stem I just read that rustigillz have a ring
Do gym aero sometimes not have a ring on stem?

Does anyone think a gym luteo?
Let me know what your thinking pal

G. aeruginosus doesn't usually have a ring, though it sometimes has a ring zone. All gymns are also known as "rustgills," producing very high amounts of orange-brown spores. Confident that it's at least a gymnopilus of the aeruginosus-luteofolius clade, definitely an interesting habitat as well

Hey man I found this on a dead log in the northern Minnesota Wisconsin border I have a feeling it might be a gym Luteofolius was growing down the trail from where I found those other ones
Would really appreciate anybody’s Mushroom wisdom 🙏

Gills are not connected there is a flap where the ring on stem might be but it’s not a complete ring
Like from left over veil
Gills are brown
1 and a quarter inch long stem
Less than quarter thick
Probably baby ones?
They’re were any others yet
Here’s some pics!http://
