***Possible Gymnopolis ?! Please help with identification of this one! 🙏

Habitat: http:// Where does it grow? Northern to middle Minnesota/Wisconsin border Growing near/on this old slice of wood in the woods off a trail .
Gills: Orange rusty gill color, gives off rusty orange powder when touching all over hands and underneath where they were growing Very rusty Spread apart Just barely attached gills
Stem: Solid stem rusty orange color 2 inches long 1 centimeter thick up and down line pattern on stem Cap: Diameter, color, texture, conical/spherical, convex/concave, etc. 2 inches to 4 inches for the bigger specimen Has spots on top of mushroom Very scaly look Orange
Spore print color:rusty/orange Very important!
Bruising: Not much except bruises to darker color on cap when squished Also extreme bruising on the gills’.
Other information: Scent of the mushroom

My friend! That’s the only other mushroom I thought it could be as well! Do they both give off a rusty powder like that? Any key differences that your aware of?

My specimen doesn’t seem to have a ring on the stem I just read that rustigillz have a ring Do gym aero sometimes not have a ring on stem?
Does anyone think a gym luteo? Let me know what your thinking pal

G. aeruginosus doesn't usually have a ring, though it sometimes has a ring zone. All gymns are also known as "rustgills," producing very high amounts of orange-brown spores. Confident that it's at least a gymnopilus of the aeruginosus-luteofolius clade, definitely an interesting habitat as well

That’s beautiful my friend Good to know about the no ring for them! I really feel like it those 2 are the possibilities Either way an excellent find! I went on a run passed Um up and something told me to go investigate This is my first Gymnopilus I’ve found! Very exciting 🙏 and I apreciate your assistance on this Yeah the habitat was very unexpected They caught my eye!

Wahooo 🥳 buddy Yes they are! Aren’t they! When I first saw them lying there they reminder me of a rusty orange amanita Muscaria with there scales and all😂 Thank you for your help as well’ So good too know I’m going to go back out later this morning and check the rust stained wood for more growing!

Hey man I found this on a dead log in the northern Minnesota Wisconsin border I have a feeling it might be a gym Luteofolius was growing down the trail from where I found those other ones Would really appreciate anybody’s Mushroom wisdom 🙏
Gills are not connected there is a flap where the ring on stem might be but it’s not a complete ring Like from left over veil Gills are brown 1 and a quarter inch long stem Less than quarter thick Probably baby ones? They’re were any others yet Here’s some pics!http://
