Asbestos really isn't that big of a deal as long as you don't disturb it. I see it in about 30% of the attics that I go into. Removing it is actually pretty easy too. I'm not sure what you mean by a musty basement. Is it something that mopping and wiping with bleach solution would help. Having those 2 flaws might actually be a good thing if you can get them to lower the price based on that and then just fix it up a little. The only thing I would really be worried about is how the basement flooded and if it will happen again.
Good luck on finding a house!!!!

Interesting situation Psi. That's good that your wife has communicated comfort boundaries with you if further things were to occur.
11 fucking days. Bought a '09 Chevy Aveo 11 days ago to use as a little, reliable fuel sipper to use as a delivery car with the option to give to my snugglepuff should he ever get his driver license. Well, snapped an axle today. Never broke an axle before. Mind you that i used to race my '74 bug with a built turbo engine and built trans on stock axles. Been bracket racing a few times, street racing, launching practice on back roads. Never snapped an axle until this little Chevy-branded Daepoo with 106hp twisted its twig in two 11 days after i bought it. Great, more car shit to deal with when i'm reducing my work load starting next week(i.e. i'll be making 60% what i've been making) so i have time to start on a novel project. The '87 Volvo is still having a bizarre charging issue that neither me, a Jaguar specialist NOR a Volvo specialist with 30 years experience working on just Volvos and Saabs has ever been able to figure out, and needs to go ASAP. The '04 Jag x-type has been great overall, but i just had to put a water pump pulley tensioner and coolant reservoir in it after they broke. Worse yet is the windshield($) cracked a few weeks ago and inspection is coming up in December. And as usual, the car considered to be one ov the most unreliable cars made in modern times, my beloved '86 Jag xj-s, has been flawless. Go figure. Sorry for the car rant. It just boggles my mind right now that i broke an axle with 106 horsepower.

Jag with an unexplainable electrical problem, color me shocked...
The axle is a real weird one, it actually snapped, gotta be manufacturer defect. Looks like the CV froze completely, and for some reason the weak point (maybe a stress fracture in the metal) caused the shaft to snap. Bummer dude, car troubles arethe fucking worst.

It's the Volvo with the issue. Compared to other brands i've owned, my Jags have been relatively reliable. People never believe me when i tell them and i fear being jinxed one ov these days, but it's the truth.

Damn, I would of bet money it was the jag, they are notorious electrical wise, but the volvo, they are pretty reliable. You probably already checked this, but my cousin just had a bunch of weird electrical system issues all at once in her truck, but different every time. Turned out the ground to frame corroded out. Replacing it and covering it in epoxy fixed everything.

I lost my post and alls I recall is like the smell of musty basements.
How was your bday, zZz? Did you have ice cream cake with extra crunchies?
Hopefully everyone has seen the squirrel obstacle course. My friend and I were discussing making one of our own, so I've been trying to get ideas. But I found this and it's giving me a panic attack. Age old battle between science and ethics.
What do you think? It gets going around 3 min.

Within 5 mins I geared up, scrolled down, was not surprised to see them off, haha.
Reading that second post about your situation changes things a bit. Didn't realize you were concerned about -you.- Suppose the choice would be to open that can of worms with your wife and friend, or try not to move closer to her? Would geographic locale really change anything, though? Especially it being a friend of your wifes, yikes.
I'm usually one for open communication, and this seems like bad advice- but if it were me I'd be limiting my time and situations with the other woman.. Ya can't help it if you caught some feelings, especially if you two are flirting and your wife's okay with that.
Oh and one catholic raised to another, knock that shame out of your head!

Yeah it's not so much that I would act on it without my wife's ok, more that I felt guilty thinking it I suppose.
One thing that got me thinking that was that my wife recently said "You know, if we move out to that area, _____ will be over at our place all the time."
