There's so fucking many guys, just picked another fat grocery bag full. They're definitely out if you got the right spot.

So jealous! Wish you could share some of that haul. Is that erosion netting along the side of the road pictured?

Beautiful!!! Newbie here...are these pans? Cubes? How wide are the caps? I strive to be where you are (not literally, but as far as the huntsmanship)
Driving around today, I saw so many big bright white ones in folks yards, I had to go for a hike in the woods! Tomorrow I will strive to find some grassy fields

I recommend reading through this thread from start to finish, especially since you don't know what those are...and this thread kinda centers around them haha

What we're finding right now is Psilocybe caerulescens, its a native grass dwelling psilocybe. Where in the world are you, you could be wasting your time in the woods....then again you could be wasting your time in grassy fields too

Long time lurker - finally signed up as a member. I'm in Central Georgia. Is there really no hope of finding caerulescens in my area? Everything I've been reading says N. Georgia :frown: would anyone be willing to "school" a hopeful active hunter? pretty please  All Im finding are inactives.

Thank You!

Believe it or not I have read every single page and post on this thread, as well as several others. I’ve also followed multiple links & have saved them for reference. In addition, I have a notebook that I have used solely for actives found in Georgia.  I need to format it so that it easier to access when out & about. I hike or walk daily & find a variety of mushrooms , however none of them have met all the requirements that I’ve been checking on.... size, color, shape, habitat, stem/ring color & shape, gill color & attachment, margins, spores & bruising. But, I WILL get there!

Having never seen any of these with a naked eye, many tend to look a lot alike to me. It’s been 30 years since I’ve had any magic mushrooms...haha, yes I’m in my 50’s & I want to go on that journey again. Back then I just ate them & enjoyed. They were already dried out & came from lord knows where.

I am learning a lot, as I canvas trails by the creek in my neighborhood, at local parks, state parks &/or WMA in my area. Finding mushrooms is not unusual. Finding magic ones has yet to happen though.

I don’t want to wear anyone out with my ignorance, so I really do appreciate it!

ONE DAY, it may be a year from now, I WILL be posting my finds
I am in Bartow County, about 45 minutes north of Atlanta.
I know they are here & I will find them
This old lady has perseverance & faith

By the way, for any other newbies, this link has been great for taking notes http://www.alpental.com/psms/PNWMushrooms/PictorialKey/index.htm#Brown
As well as the Mushroom Info tabs here , at mycotek.org and mushroomobserver.org.
Furthermore, there are number of individual bloggers that can be found by searching

awesomme link! thx, thatll save me a couple hundred id requests lol (i think i found it before but saw pnw and didnt bookmark it cause it wouldnt have what i was looking for not realizing it could still tell me if i had one that wasnt) and dont be discouraged. it took me a couple a tries and a couple a places but i eventually found a couple a lil small grassy friends and almost as soon as i spotted them i knew what they were. i had found lots of other look alikes previously that had 1 or 2 of the features/characteristics (darker umbo, tan stem with the white scales, no skirt, gill color, cap color/texture) but they never had those combined and never bruised blue so when i saw the cap with the umbo and the tan stem with the white powder i knew those 2 lil guys were gonna blue and they sho did i couldnt resist and ate them otw home, was driving for like 15 minutes max as soon as i pulled in the driveway everything got "that look" lol and it was a nice level 2 from then on until the next day when they wore off i took them around noon

Lots of solitaries today. 2 distinct stages of maturity. In one of the pics (the one with the aged, dark cap) I tried to capture the 2 phases of growth. Only found 1 pin.

Those look about ready to go. Find some fresh construction areas and squirt it around. I squirted mine about 3-5 inches underground.

Yeah here's a pic with the netting pictured after I cut it lol

I took a big sharp pocket knife and made long diagonal cuts all down the slope. Two days after I did this they all grew big and brown and nice and I got an even bigger second flush
