I had an idea and was trying to mod a couple blender lids. The drill caught the blade housing spun it out of my grip and took the end of my thumb with it. 
The shroom gods require what they will from time to time...

Ahem... verum... cough, cough.
Im kinda bummed. I inoculated a jar of rye with shiitake lc maybe a week ago and no growth of any kind yet. It doesnt appear contaminated. The oyster jar is going wild. Guess its back to the 'ole fridge for me.

A while ago I birthed and fruited a bunch of cakes way too early, none of them were fully colonized and had to finish colonizing in the FC.
 
Then a few weeks after that I made a bunch of cakes that ended being too sticky in the centre and these weren't able to fully colonize so I had to dig the centre out from all of them and ended up with these weird donuts..
 
And a few weeks ago I decided to make my own spore solution from freshly made prints for the first time cause I really wanted to make cakes from spores that time. It started off looking great, very fast germination and growth resulting in more than 50% colonization in the first 8-10 days and then suddenly every cake came to a complete halt and then molded quickly after. So if anyone is under the impression that I'm some cake growing wizard then I'd humbly ask you to reconsider lol

This current actually.
I grew a shit ton of ape for a while, so much that I got bored with it but saved a 1/2 pint of spawn in the fridge for 4 months. Then I decided I wanted to revisit my lil cracker dicks and expanded to 30 qts. This is the result of the first tub a month after spawn. Not a total fail I have one pin.

I doubt that even mold or anything would be able to colonize the parts I scooped out, it was so sticky and hard I even bent the tea spoon several times digging the donuts. Cakes still produced a couple of normal flushes so it wasn't like a major failure. I was more surprised by those other cakes that I birthed too early that finished colonizing inside the HC, I was sure most of them were gonna contam early but they ended up producing a couple of normal flushes as well

My first ever mono. With a modified lid with no cover over the hole except for that dollar store flashlight lol.
Managed to fruit some pan cyans from a wild print though. First time I ever used a mono
Probably could've fit my hands through those holes lol. I also spawned to a bag of sterilized poo I bought on the web lol. Good ole days

Searched for about 30 minutes but couldn't find the pictures. Maybe I'll fine them later and edit this post.
My first ever attempt at bulk I spawned 4 beautiful unmodded tubs. I was so confident I didn't have any backup. All 4 triched out before full colonization. And it was bad too. Knowing what I know now, I may have been growing 80% trich in my jars based off how quickly they contamed and how widespread it was 
I took a break from cult for about 6 months after that doozy lol

Here was my first grow. Itβs all wrong; I used a wide mouth pint jar, for a brf cake, sitting on a tray of perlite, in a fantastic space age fruiting contraption. Look at that piece of foil I only wish I had more pics. Itβs a testimony to the resilience of cubes.

Here in my country there are no mycobags available, and I was a getting a little tired of using only jars, so a few months ago I tried doing a few homemade polypropylene bags with micropore tape that was lying in my house to use it as a filter. I made 9 of them.
I tried to do my best in my SAB and everything. I had almost 8 months or so with sterile work under my belt, with a couple fails but lots of improvements and progress, so I wasn't noob.
By that time I had never had an issue with Trich in my grain, so I didnt' know what it was. I had juust a few, maybe two or three agars along all this time with Trich contam. I could recognize in those bags that something was kinda off, but didn't know exactly what it was as the bag itself couldn't let me see clearly because of the material (transparent but opaque). I thought there was a big chance that there was a contaminant, but didn't think of how severe it could be. For some reason, instead of throwing them out directly, I tried to shake the spawn to see if the mycelium could colonize better and maybe run over and 'win' the contaminant. Just in sake of experiment...
As soon as I grabbed the first bag and made some pressure with my fingers, it literally coughed green to my chest. It was a fucking big cloud. I freezed and stared it astonished. At that moment I knew I really fucked up. Because I was in the grow room.
I immediately went outside with the nine bags and started to open them one by one. And each one of them were like this, some even lot worse:
Until today I have spores of these bags floating around the spawn room and had been battling with lots of green contams in my tubs (which I never had until I dumbly pressed the bag  ).
Right now I'm tightening up a lot my sterile work: from a 100% clean culture every time to a controlled correctly/properly pasteurized substrate, etc etc, and using iso alcohol for literally everything... And it seems everything is going fine and better each day 
But thats the moral of the story guys, no homemade ghetto bags! Or maybe better... Make them correctly! No cheap/old/shitty micropore tape for trying to filter micronic particles!
