This shoebox was doing fine yesterday, but over the course of the day the shrooms have slimmed down

Is this contaminated? I'm mainly worried about the black spots on the stems.

Those guys are going all willy nilly. They aren't happy about something. I don't have the expertise to identify the problem, sorry. I have researched on here about bacteria and found that drying them out and also your gut biome makes them 'relatively' safe to eat? Again, I'm a noob. Best luck

Yeah, those are looking bacterial af. You can probably harvest what's there, boil them fresh with a few cups of water, strain out the mushroom material, soak it with a couple of tea bags, and have a nice active drink. It should keep in the fridge for 10 days or so, provided the container it's in isn't open and doesn't let fresh air in to oxidize the actives.

People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.” - Nelson Mandela

I have a huge feeling it was BOD's coir tek. I think I may have gotten the water measurement wrong, because I was using the measurement on one of my stainless steel pans. Going into spawning, I knew my coir was going to be too wet. I set that Coir outside for about a week to get it to "field capacity" and apparently that didn't work. As of this evening my other shoebox started developing early signs of green mold, though not green quite yet, but knew it was heading that direction. I harvested what I could from the adjacent side, harvested what I could from the other shoeboxes, and am now dehydrating them.
I want to go PF tek next time because of how frustrating the Coir has been. I followed that TEK to an milimiter, but still had substrate that was needing weeks+ to dry out to "proper" conditions. I don't blame the tek, I blame my pot that had measurements on the side. Still, PF tek is where I started and I got results. Now I have a bulk tek where I may not even net my PF Tek results on output. I was sterile though this whole thing as well, SAB and all.

They either lack fresh air or light or both

Dude. Field capacity isn't rocket surgery. It might be daunting at first but its just moisture level. Its like squeezing a washcloth. Is the washclothe dripping or is it dry? Just don't put it outside to dry.
