Can you sterlize an agar jar on its side in a PC?

Ok minor emergency, I'm just geting started, I bang my 500ml pyrex media bottle w/ MEA agar into my pressure cooker...and the lid doens't go on...the bottles too big.
I'm a dumbass I know, I know I shouldn't have bought a pressure cooker that was only 8L, but the past is in the past.
However, if I tip my media bottle on its side, and kinda just let it...float in the water in the pressure cooker, it can fit. Only problem is i'd have to have the lid on real tight, instead of loose.
Can I do this? Will my glass media bottle explode? Advice really appreciated cause I'm all set up here and I'm stalled.

It will not explode. The pressure outside the glass is going to be 15 PSI, or higher. Regular canning is sealed.
It might leak.

Its a GL45 screw cap, so i don't think it's likely to leak. You think its worth giving it a shot?

Ab-so-f*ckin-lutely! It’s not my PC.
J/k. I have the same media bottle, and mine leaks if I don’t screw the cap down, then back it off a single 1/4 turn, so all of my agar runs are in a sealed jar.
You ever seen a jar of canned tomatoes? If the liquid in there doesn’t cause it to explode at pressure, the agar won’t.

I'm sorry if I'm being obtuse or slow...but when you say absoloutely, its not my pressure cooker, then jk...it sounds like you're telling me I'm going to fuck my pressure cooker, or my something up.
EDIT: Aight well I did it and it worked. Thanks anyway.

I do 500mL media bottles leaned-over in a smaller PC than yours. I use empty narrow-mouth half-pint jars to keep it from falling over. Just keep the agar as far from the bottle's top as you can and fill the PC water up pretty high to mitigate boilover.

Told ya. Canned foods are sealed tight and go through a PC cycle just fine.

Perhaps, but regular media bottles are not rated for pressure and only specific ones are rated for vacuum.

I use jar lids in the bottom of my small PC and lean the media bottle over. Jar lids keep it from moving. Keep cap loose and use foil over it. Don't lay it on it's side

They can be run through an autoclave. Anything that can handle that can handle our stove top PCs.

I put mine in the center of the rack and wrap a dish towel around it’s base.
