Identification help
    #26954051 - 09/25/20 08:25 AM (3 years, 4 months ago)

Hi. Great to find somewhere like this.
Been a wandering and my friend spotted these all growing together.
They are very different in shape, but we wondered if they are in fact the same thing.

Thank you.

The One On The Right Looks To Be Psilocybe Semileanceata, The Other 2 Might Be As Well But I'm Not Familiar Enough With Them To Say For Sure, Wait For Some More Opinions

The one on the right is Psilocybe semilanceata. The others are Protostropharia species. Welcome to the Shroomery!

Thank you.

Do both contain psilocybin?  ...and are Protostropharia safe to consume?

Also found the following, which were all very similar too, all growing in close proximity to the Psilocybe, if not right alongside.

Would appreciate advice on those too.

Pretty experienced in finding 'magic' mushrooms but, this year, there seem to be lots of variants which, in all honesty, look right but are just different shaped (flattened out caps, noticeable but very small 'nipple').

Don't want to poison ourselves though obviously! :S

Thank you for any advice offered.

I See Protostropharia Sp & Maybe A Panaeolus Sp In That Pic. Protostropharia Sp Do Not Contain Psilocybin.

The one on the right is definitely a liberty cap, potent psilocybin content. The others are inactives. Take a look at the gills and the shape of the cap, you will see the differences!

All of these are inactives. Liberty caps tend to be shaped like a gnomes hat and have a nipple!

Quite a few of these have a nipple, or dot, on the top but they are flattened out.

I can also see very little difference in the gills, in fact the gills are almost identical.
