Hello shroomerites!
First time grower here. Read the forum for a while, gathered all the supplies and bought a PC and started with Golden Teachers.
I couldn't get my hands on any 1/2 pint jars so I used normal pint sized ones. I created my own BRF and made the jars with fine vermiculite mix. Cooked the jars for 90 mins at 15 psi. Inoculated 5 pint size jars on 9/11 using a SAB I built using this forum. Have the jars sitting in a closed closet with a 6500 led bulb set to 12/12 schedule.
The mycelium took hold and seemed to be healthy. A few days later the growth exploded!
This is the progress as of tonight 13 days later. I was just hoping for some opinions/reassurance that I'm doing everything correctly and the jars are still healthy. I know it may still be too early to assume but I wonder are the jars stalling out? They haven't grown past the bottom half inch of the jar for a few days now.
Thoughts?

PS. I have them on a graphite heating mat because the temps in that area get down to 64 some nights.

Jars look good.
Common theory is that pint jars can compact the bottom part of the brf mixture making it harder for the mycellium to move through it, which can lead to stalling out towards the bottom. Some people flip the jars upside down once the top is colonized to try and combat this with some success, others just birth the cake (or go to bulk) simply washing off the uncolonized section before doing so.
As you're only 2 weeks in, I'd give it more time, maybe flip them. Use a washable marker to trace the leading edge and you can easily tell when things are moving or not.
Heating matts don't heat things evenly (just the bottom of whatever is on top of it) so are generally seen as a way to invite contaminates to proliferate. Better to heat the whole room/area with a small space heater.
Other than that, looking good.
Are you fruiting the cakes or going to bulk?

Sounds good, will do.

Planning to fruit this first batch just for the experience. I will probably try agar or bulk on my next grow.

Hi guy, I was attracted to your thread because I am also a new guy just trying to gather information before I even attempt a grow. Please forgive is completely new and ignorant question as I try to gain knowledge. Those jars look good! Like I would know LOL but my question is how long did you keep them in the dark before checking on them to see if you're mycellium is growing properly?

I didn't keep them in the dark at all. I read more than one person and different Teks saying that daylight on a 12/12 cycle is beneficial to all stages of mushroom growth. So they have been on 12/12 light since inoculated.
