Cobweb or in the clear?
    #26952837 - 09/24/20 02:06 PM (3 years, 4 months ago)

Hey all, I thought I was in the clear, but nervous about this layer of white on top. Is it cobweb? I thought cobweb was fluffy.

What exactly is going on in that pic? Is that some sort of cake? Why is there soil and what looks like...is that perlite? Whatever is going on on the top of that is not good. It looks like the myc is trying to fruit on the edges. It appears that colony is in its last days. Those fruits may mature, hard to tell.

What procedure did you follow?

Looks really not good. I'd be surprised if that think makes it much further

So I forgot a liner and had a ton of side pins, flipped the cake and put in in a larger tub and a bed or perlite. Now I’m nervous that top is some sort of mold. What are your thoughts? This is first flush

I think it's mold but I'm colorblind, have been wrong before and have seen all kinds of crazy shit that surprised me. I think you're fucked though

It looks like it was tammed from the start. Your flipping it and all that nonsense, just made the contamination show all the way.

In the future, dont do that.

Also, make sure your spawn is clean.

Clean up and try again.

The only healthy(ish) cubensis mycelium in that block is concentrated in those little strips that are putting out pins. The rest is a mold colony.

The reason you had a tone of side pins is likely because that's the only places that the cube myc could mature. It wasnt just because you forgot a liner.
If you've already flushed this, and did the flip afterwards, my thoughts still stand. That tray was contaminated from the get go.
