Yellow bacteria or mycelium waste?

I have been researching on this site to find my answer, but still am unclear about this yellow discoloration. Contamination or mycelium waste? It was on a heat pad. 4 months since inocculation.

Something very wrong with that. Way too long, way too ugly, and don't put it on a heat pad.

I see mycelium waste(metabolite) and some nasty stuff. Toss it. Correct me if im wrong.

Wow. Yeah, toss that. Dont put incubating anything (bags, jars, plates, LC, subs) on or near a heat pad! Room temp up to 80°F is sufficient. If you really need to heat a small incubation space, make sure it is indirect heat and does not heat the space over 80°.

Thank you. I have to research other heating methods. This is my 3rd attempt to start a grow. Not sure why each bag has taken several months to show mycelium. Still researching and trying to understand what I'm doing wrong.

If you're shooting spores onto grain, that's a big part of it. If you're using presterilized bags, that's part of it. Having them on a heating pad is part of it.
