I’m not the brain you wanted to pick but for this one, the tells for me are the pallid somewhat translucent stem and most Galerina having an affinity for mossy/woody substrates. The cap coloring can sometimes help being that they’ll be more ochraceous to sandy tan than would typically be seen with something like a cyan where it’s pretty reliably caramel with little variation.

Try googling "young armillaria." You can see the little black hairs bunched up in the center of the cap. That's one of the key identifying features of Armillaria as far as I know.
Learn your land has a good video on Armillaria vs Galerina that's pretty thorough.
I'm currently learning about the Armillaria genus, so I am by no means an expert on the subject. I actually just identified my first Galerina marginata, although not 100% cause they were dried due to the stupid drought here.

Honey fungy grow in big ass clusters that's the giveaway.
Why would you want this species? They are invasive parasitic garbage and they taste like ass

It's the stem texture mostly, but also the annulus with orange spores on it, smooth cap texture and growth on moss. Galerina expert Douglas Smith explained to me that Galerina always has an "interesting" stem texture, while most other genera that look similar have more boring stems. It's floccose white mycelium which collapses easily when touched, showing the brown stem color below.
The yellow flower is Erythranthe guttata, I see it a lot in California near water.

Galerina for me have a farinaceous odor, like Agrocybe and Psilocybe.
