Hello everybody I am new here. I am a little sad today, when I saw my two grow bags containing the Golden Teachers kits something wasn't look so nice. I saw something like moisture -cotton like material on the surface of both grow kits. There were hundreds of tiny pins and in the one of the two kits few bigger. The bags were closed for 5 days now. There was a few drops of water on the top of the bended bag before.. the first thing I did was to open the bags and I place the clippers and now they stand straight. I m not sure if this thing that look to me like moisture is normal or not so I will upload some pictures here so you can tell if it is ok or not. And if not, if there is any thing I can do. Like clean this moisture.. I don't.. Please help meβοΈβοΈππ

Your surface conditions are extremely dry.
Dial back the FAE and give it a mist.
Do more reading, learn how to do agar and you'll see even better results.
Good luck !

Yeah thatβs definitely dry, the yellowing you see is the pinning surface dying.

I just drop little water ~20ml on the bottoms of the bag and I fold the top with a clipper? Are the okey as they look in the Pictures? It is possible to have a healthy yield? Thank you very much ππβοΈβοΈππ

If by bottom of the bag you mean under the container... no.
I'd work the brick away from the wall of the container, put a little water in there and then mist the bag and close.
Don't go overboard with it, it doesn't need to be swimming, just something the substrate can soak up.
You do want some condensation on the bag. Imagine something a tree frog would be comfortable in...

Okk, my friend! So when I will be back home I clean my hands, take out the brick put little water on the container, put back the brick and spray on the surface of the bag then fold the bag and put a clipper, right?
*On the poor instractions of the kit say do not spray water.. but it makes sense to do it now if these dots are the dry dieing mushrooms
In general we want to see drops of water on the surface of the bag -humidity?
The bag on the top should have the two clippers being fold or not?
Thank you very much!!ππβοΈβοΈππ

Is the bag fully sealed when clipped or does it have something that allows air to circulate?
You want to rehydrate the sub (now that it's dry) and have the air be humid, and that can be done a number of ways depending on the setup.
When you get back, take a pic of the full setup and it'd be easier to advise.

Honestly that top surface is close to toast. Itβll be mold food before it puts out much. I would try and pop that whole cake out and flip it. Then donβt let it dry out so bad. Might pull a decent flush that way.

Thanks guys!! I upload a picture from the set up as it is now.
I did what you said. I put little water in the tank something like 3mm above the bottom. The mushrooms on the one grow they look better now, they are more Brown but still dots. The second one is growing slower..
As I understood when I see these white dots I add water on the tank or/and some water on the bag!?
If they are brown and no dots or little dots I let them in peace..!?
As you see now the bag is close on the top. There are though many little holes on the one side.
Naturaly we want always to have humidity in the bag, right? That means to see water indide the walls of the bag!?
Is it ok to open the bag often to see?or it is bad for the humidity?
Ok guys, again, thank you!! I know I made lot of questions, it is my first grow and I was almost sure that I mess it up.. but now looks better!!ππ Goodnight from meππβοΈβοΈ

Good morning there! I wake up and saw my friends in the first kit really well.. I did some research last night and I saw that is good to add fresh air and water every day even more than one time a day. But the instractions of the kit say don't put water and when you see the first caps open the bag or better let it straight without a clipper and this what I did with the first bag I let it straight with just one clipper in the top so air can move better and moisture it can prevent. The surface of the brick looks much more wet than in the beginning. The second kit is growing much slower, not many pins and caps, so I did let the bag close for the moment but I m thinking to open it soon because there are few caps.
Also I did saw that in some other kit from other companys they ask you to scratch the surface of the block. And then I did remember that the one kit had way much more mycelium in the top, I think that was the second one..what are your thoughts?
Thank you guys, have a nice dayππππ

Also I have to say that the kits started the night of 16 of this month. So now is day 8

Still look a bit dry for my liking: you want the surface moisture to be glistening but not forming little puddles.
It's a balancing act and as they're dry now, you'll be misting more until they recover (and I hope they do).
Don't go by the colour of the caps, you don't want them to get to the dry point ever...
*ah just saw your most recent post, and they are looking better

good work on your first try
if you read and understand this thread for next time, I think that will help you have a lot more success
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/23999053
you should start from a syringe or print next time maybe
kits rarely work out well from what I have seen
all the best with it

Ok guys thanks for the advices. Yeah I will never let them get dry again.. I will try to spray water and fresh the air often. I will check the theard definitely! I am excited with the growth of the first kit it looks almost ready..I don't know when is exactly the perfect moment to harvest though. The second kit doesn't give much for the moment... Let's see
You can check here the Pictures I took right now: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=17Wp6zhwJ7Lb_W6q2eoisrIrzg4EENikO

The bigger ones will be ready first. You can either cut them out as they open up, or leave them until the rest fill in. Try not to let them open up and sporulate, unless u are trying to take prints.

Exactly, that was my next questions! 1st) I can choose to cut some or i should cut them all together? and then when there will be no shrooms left i go for the second flush 2) there is a time between open up and sporulate? so opening up it is the notifier when the shroom is ready? and ussualy how long it take for the spore to fall?
Thank you ,no i dont go for prints yet
