All caps and no stipe. What's going on?

Hey folks, I've got a monotub that's fruited these caps with almost no stipe. What may be causing this?
9 days after spawning

15 days after spawning

19 days after spawning

Malabar Print to agar to oats that were PCed at 15psi for 2 hours Spawned to bucket pasturized coir/verm I misted it lightly only once to get the surface conditions ideal once it had colonized and left it alone after that.
It knotted like crazy, but, when pins started to form, they looked like brown pebbles as if they were all cap. I've got two shoe boxes of Malabar that came from the same print but different agar plates that are a bit further behind but look to be doing the exact same thing.
Any idea what's up?

I'm getting something similar where rather than getting pins, mushroom caps are pushing through the top of the substrate.
Mine grew into full sized mushrooms before maturing, so I don't know why yours are maturing so soon. They might be too moist if I had to guess (indicated by the dark brown caps)
Curious to see what input anyone else has...

Either wack genetics, or too much spawn. I like a 1:3 ratio myself. I don’t think it looks like trich or any other molds at play.

I had no idea this would happen, but, yeah, the spawn ratio is probably it. I've been playing around with higher spawn to sub ratios this round, and it seems I went overboard.
Thanks for the reply, Pasty. You're the best!

I have a box of Malabar pinning right now and that strain has dark caps:

There’s also more than one mutant in there. The mycelium for this strain was crazy on agar, in the jars, and as you can see in the sub. Wouldn’t be surprised if OP’s issue is genetic.

Yeah I think you're right that genetics was the cause.
Nonetheless, the dark brown caps of OP's post look like they're due to moisture since you can see the difference between the wet caps vs the less wet ones.
Your caps all look pretty consistent and look dark due to genetics.

So here are the shoeboxes spawned at the same time. They seem to have stalled but look really similar to where the big tub was at one point.

I spawned these 1:1 like I always do shoeboxes, so I'm less convinced it's the spawn ratio at this point, but I really don't have enough experience to know.
Could it really be genetics if these jars were all A2G from a print? I wouldn't think an MS grow would show the same weird traits in all the fruits, but, again, I just don't know enough to be sure.
I inoculated some of the same batch of grains with another variety that just gave me a healthy flush with no problems, so I don't think the issue originated with my grain sterilization, at least.
If anyone has any further input or can see something in the pictures I'm not picking up, I'd appreciate the help. I don't wanna keep making attempts to cultivate this malabar if it's gonna do this every time, but I just cant imagine that would be the case using a print.

Could your sub have been too wet?
I have a box exhibiting some weird cap and no-stipe stuff like you, and I spawned it way above field capacity just as a test.
Just a thought.

Reminds me of pe blobs
Ive had this happen from time to time over the years. I couldnt accurately explain why. Havent done much different as far as spawn ratio to notice anything.
