Finally found the final piece for automation

Hi there all you beautiful people!
After about 20 years or so, I finally got the last piece of my intricate puzzle that is “Mushroom Cultivation”
I’ve been messing around with WeMo timers simulating that of nature.
In the rules section you can write specific rules for each timer. They are 15A and 1800w so it can hold up to my AA x75 on about a 6 for heat setting.
Using these saves me from “Double PC’n” my jars if I leave for the night and don’t come home within 24 hours. (My old timer setup would run another PC cycle and cook em’ again)
The WeMo timers also have rule settings that come on or off at “Sunset” or “Sunrise” I’ve been kicking the heat on and off to simulate more like nature. I feel like it’s done wonders for pinning.

Anywhoot, I haven’t been active on the forums but plan to scour the last 5 years or so to see if there is anything cool I may have missed. Tell me, Whats new?

Have you actually used the wemo timer with your 75x yet? I have a wemo timer around here somewhere that i no longer use for my 75x. Here's why...
On my wemo it will go into "sleep" mode if the wattage being drawn drops below a certain point. And this point can be selected and adjusted on mine. But, the lowest setting is something like 3w. When my 75x would get up to temp and start turning the heating element on and off with the thermostat it would kick my wemo into "sleep" mode because when the 75x would shut off the heating element in order to stay out of the red, wattage would drop to 0. When the heating element would kick back on to keep the temp up, it would wake up the timer and the countdown on the timer would reset. So... it would just keep cooking and cooking. I found this out after going bed, waking up and realizing that my 75x had been running at temp for over 6 hours. I tried everything i could and no luck. The wemo was no good for me.

These are the timers i use. I use the 24hr style and not the 7 day programmable. The 24hr has a countdown timer feature that i use. You also want a heavy duty extension cord if you need to use one. One rated for 1875w just like the timer. I've melted extentsion cords rated for 1650w.

I have used the wemo timers and they work great. Possible you have an older model.
I recently had to reconfigure everything since google bought the company out. I am currently using them w/o an extension cord and have tested that the cord doesn’t get too hot and things are looking great.
I’ll come back to this thread a year from now and see if I have any additional updates! TTFN
