Growing old scares the hell out of me because im afraid of losing it mentally, my grandmother is 90'something and kinda losing it, makes me afraid to get that old, but then I seen this video where some one is that old and doing fine and I feel a lot less scared to get that old, check out the video

I bet your older than me, But I feel the same way. A lot of seizures I've been declared dead and brain dead, brain surgery. Mentally I know I'm not 100% and am much more stable than every friend I ever had but I know I'm borderline. the surgery and seizures destroyed my memory from 15-21 can't even remember my wedding. Everyday I have a few moments where I wonder how I'm gonna be when I'm older. So your not the only one.

Being old is useless, youth is wasted on the young.

LOL, I see myself being like that, but I have partied a bit so I'm guessing I might die around mid 80's to mid 90's. Don't be scared of something you have absolutely no control over at all, that's just silly. You can eat better, exercise more and all that jazz. Really all the exercising and diets and all that only increases a life span for 2-5 years if a person is reasonably healthy, makes good choices about not smoking, eating well, and exercises moderately. OOOhhh, I could live to be 100 instead of 90-95, fuck that. I prefer quality over quantity personally. I am starting to exercise more because I want to feel better in my later years.

In many cases I think "losing it" is more difficult for the observer than the experiencer. If my elderly father declines to the point he forgets who I am, he would not react with stress or anguish. It would be difficult for me. And my fragile ego. But I agree - to need to relearn how to use the TV remote once a week would be frustrating. Or not? We don't know. Maybe it would only be frustrating to the person doing the weekly teaching . . .

I get that fear of dying occasionally but 1 trip can usually keep it at bay for a couple weeks at least. I’m more worried about people I love not feeling ready to die, that and the loneliness that comes after death. I wish my dad would try some but he’s super straight edge.

When you're young you want to be older and when you're older you want to be younger. I'm only 18 and I already hate it. Respect to you guys for putting up with lifes shit for that long!

I'm actually very glad I'm older and wouldn't want to EVER go back to my teens and 20's, and 30's even. Fuuuuuuuuck that shit! Life is SO much better now, better than it ever has been for me. (sorry mom, I love you!)

It's a strange thing when the majority of people I interact with that are my age or 5 years younger than me feels like talking to elementary school kids.
Growing old isn't new, but being irrelevant and out of touch within your own generation is happening exponentially faster now it seems.

It's always been that way, but with comps and tech it's happening faster it seems.

IDK about that for me. I'm glad I was young and grew up before cell phones and internet.

Honestly happy I grew up right around the mass adoption of the internet and cellphones. Still have memories before they were ubiquitous and also had enough exposure to be able to adapt to new tech.
Still might be golden age thinking, but I really value good quality in person conversations. That's becoming a rare skill lately.
But getting older has been pretty sweet otherwise. Besides my body slowly degrading but that can't be entirely avoided.

When I see people looking at their cellphones in public I want to smash them over the head with a frying pan.
It's like they're addicts or something
