Hello fam! I've done the googling and looking at pics from key words on here and I can't quite find a like for like, I am new and learning fast. This jar was fully colonized and clean (I transferred some onto agar as I am having a rough run) but once moved to fruiting chamber things have changed. I decided to fruit in the jar as I wanted to limit chances of things going awry for my first fruiting and this jar had an edge so turned out unsuitable to use as a cake (have other jars now)
Contam? If so what sort? Is this common post colonizing? Jar smells fine 🤷♀️

If that black isnt coffee grounds im going to say mold but im just guessing. When was the jar fully colonized and how long did it take to get there(oats?) and when did you start seeing discoloration?
Transferred some of this colonized jar to agar?
What type of fruiting chamber and What changed when you moved it to there?

Not coffee. Just BRF and verm and PC'd. Noc'd 24/8 with spore syringe I made, full col 9/9, moved to modified FC 16/9 with temp sitting between 21-26C (fluctuates as day warms and cools). Noticed black beginning 20/9, looked today and it's advanced considerably. Doesnt look like verm is causing it, its sludge looking.
I transferred a tiny bit of colonized verm from the top when I cracked the jar to fruit (incubated sealed, injected w spore syringe) and that seems to have taken cleanly and I've just done some transfers to 3x more plates.
What changed? Removing the lid and leaving it in the FC, I misted the top once and verm has stayed damp since, it's at 99% humidity. FC was iso cleaned prior, perlite rinsed, side and top holes have polyfill, bottom holes have micropore. The room also fruits oysters, I sort of expected the tub should stay isolated in it's own ecosystem 🤐
I expect mistakes for first grow so open to learning, looks like a big fat dose of mold gah... At least I know what it is now 🙏 One print made 5 syringes for 12 jars,4 LC, 8 plates of either direct spore or syringe later and I have eff all (two jars colonised and that agar plate) but at least my hygiene is ok cause my plates stay clean and syringes that didnt work haven't contamed the jars after letting them sit for a month waiting hopefully 😅
ain goal atm is to get just one fruiting so I can TC onto agar plates to make agar to grain and LC. Spores are considerably more involved compared to my other myco work but I'm still green asf😂

My mistake i noticed brf afterwards haha, you'll get there im very new also and my learning curve was steep but youll find what works and what doesnt for you. I dont personally use FCs or brf but ive seen plenty of different teks on this site with great results. just keep reading between that and your experience youll get that first fruit in no time.

SFF shoebox factory If FC doesnt work out for you crumble your cakes into shoeboxes seems to be popular.
