I have a high end comp, game pass gets me all my microsoft goodness. PS5 has exclusives that are worth it to me. Just a demon's Souls remake in my mind justifies dropping 500. Everything else is just icing on the cake.

Xbox series X, mainly for the backward compatibility. I have only had sony consoles since ps1 and I am ready for the change. Those drive expansion prices though... ooof!

I do not want to spend 1500+ on a pc. Simple. The new consoles that are coming out look amazing and can be purchased for a low low price of 500 shmackaroos.
I can say this. 70.00 for a game is trash. 50.00 to 60.00 and now 70.00.
Here's my thoughts. I think Sony had to sell the PS5 at such a low cost in order for the masses to afford them. It has also come out that sony won't be making much per console so... They had to find a way to make up for the lost coin. How? Well, they upped the charge when it comes to making games.
I think.
Let's say I sell an oz of the marijuanas for 100.00, but I wanted to take my grow to the next level and purchased better quality equipment. In order to make up the cost of the equipment I now have to sell ozs of the marijuanas for 150.00.

The only Microsoft game that is on my PS4 is Minecraft, and several times I've had to completely uninstall and reinstall it after it gets an update, it's like Windoze. There's no reason for me to buy a whole console full of that shit. Hell no.
Either way I'll be waiting at least a year or so, for all the initial production series bugs to be discovered and addressed.

Yeah I'm with you. If I was a serious gamer, then I'd probably go the PC route. I'm not. These days I'm barely a casual gamer. And I want the added ability of a 4K blu-ray player that both consoles bring to the table.

No I haven't. Since it appears the preorders are selling out immediately whenever they release a new batch (btw I've seen PS5 and Series X consoles selling for over a thousand dollars on ebay lol), I'm just gonna sit back until after the official releases and wait until sales stabilize to a point where they'll be available to the rest of the buying market.
I've always gotten Playstations (I bought each one over the years...I did have one of the Xbox consoles briefly once though) so part of me wants to get the Series X just to change things up. But then the other part of me wants to get the PS5 just out of familiarity...ugh. Idk lol. May just flip a coin when it's all said and done 
I swear I picture all the hardcore gamer nerds just sitting at home unemployed constantly hitting their refresh buttons on their online shopping carts while they pee in empty bottles of mountain dew and defecate in their adult diapers as they fiendishly try to secure their new console. Because apparently as soon as Best Buy or Target or who the hell ever puts a new batch of preorders out they are gone nationwide within seconds
