I argued with the Universe, and lost
    #26948474 - 09/21/20 08:39 PM (3 years, 4 months ago)

This is a moment within a transformative trip that I'd like to share. If people would like to hear more, I'd love to share my experiences.

During a trip I was pondering death. I've made peace with it before on previous trips, however, at this point it came full circle and I wasn't comfortable with the idea.

At one point during the trip, I closed my eyes and made contact with 'the other' and was having a conversation. I could write so much on the concept of making contact with an intelligent consciousness that, for some reason, cares about us as individuals. Hope to explore more on that concept in the future.

At one point, I said, it's so unfair how short our lifespan is. I have so many things I want to accomplish, so much I want to do, so much I want to explore, so much I want to read, so much I want to live. The voice then said something I inherently already knew (I am paraphrasing) "all things in the universe eventually die. The planet, the sun, the stars, the univers itself." And I was angry at the answer and I said, that's not fair, they have so much more time then the blink of an eye comparison of a lifespan we have. In less then a moment it eloquently responded (again paraphrasing) "to accomplish your goals, yes, their time in comparison seems infinite. But for THEIR goals, look at it from this perspective. Imagine wanting to create a universe so beautiful, so chaotic, so random, full of pattern, full of intricacies, full of different chemicals, different substances, and eventually the building blocks of life. Overtime allowing naturally life to form, evolve, and create history and art, major accomplishments, achievements beyond comprehension. For them, the timespan offered seems so short. 'If only, there was more time...'

I knew I lost that argument then and there. And that was the time I argued with the universe and lost.

I wonder if this is what my mushroom taking young friend thinks as he is dying of cancer this fall - right now - amidst COVID and FIRES and FLOODS.

life is even shorter for some of us.

this makes me think that at least some of us are luckier in some moments than others. And those moments also are fleeting.

makes me just want to let go and be

Wow RedGreenVines. When your friend thinks about multiplicity, it must absolutely insane. Talk about a confounded situation, woof.

I hope he knows he's more then welcome to share his struggles and stories as a fellow psychonaut if it helps him with his current journey.

With that said, I'm sorry dude  Losing a friend can be traumatic.

I know that these subjects are tough when you are NOT terminal, to be actually in that state and face those subjects head on must be a totally different animal in and of itself. I'm glad it can be available for people in all stages of life.
