movie trip suggestions?

Hey guys,
I'm down to my last 10g or so dried batch of shrooms for the season... just wanted to get some awesome movie suggestions to trip over on. Was thinking something like interstellar or whatever but open to all suggestions. Is it worth trying this out or perhaps a bit too risky as a semi-newbie.
Thanks!

Hi, in my opinion you might 'waste' your trip experience watching tv. Much better to close your eyes and watch the show behind your eye lids while listening to some good music.
That being said I know this wasn't really what you asked for ... Coincidally the last movie I watched on shrooms (1,5 gram only) was Interstellar. Never heard about this movie before and didn't have a slight clue what it was about. It was fantastic.

Along the lines of Interstellar (and my personal favorites):
2001: A Space Odyssey
Stalker (by Andrei Tarkovsky)
Solaris (by Andrei Tarkovsky)
Although I agree that movies/games/tv are a waste of a trip (if you're talking about high doses) but it could be great on low to mid doses.

I watched Stalker last weekend on the 2nd part of a 1p-lsd trip ... Had a really great time, though that kind of movie is not for everybody, very special type of cinema.
Loved A scanner Darkly too ... watched it after a trip though,my eyes would still trick me into slight visual disortions which the movie made more noticeable. I wouldn't watch it while tripping, too much paranoia.
I don't watch movies during mushroom trips as they are shorter and I'm more in a self exploration mode.
To stay on topic, a movie I would recommend while tripping : The Holy Mountain from Jodorowsky, very visual in itself when sober, full symbolism and great music.

The Tree of Life maybe? Mirror (Tarkovsky) could also be a good one, but reading subs while tripping may be a drag

I like watching shows too while tripping. I like the more WTF type shows though.
If you can find all seasons and episodes of Manswers I highly recommend it.
Team America (Fuck Yeah) is pretty fucked up tripping.
And my newest adventure is with believe it or not, Trolls World Tour. Watched that twice and saw something different both times.

I like LOTR, specifically the scene where the fellowship is first meeting in rivendale and Gandalf speaks the language of Mordor.
I don’t usually watch movies butt if I do, I try and peak at that scene..
Also Frodo’s face always makes me laugh on shrooms. Elijah Wood always looks like an alien 👽 but everyone one else remains more or less human looking.

Apocalypse Now is also quite trippy, but in quite a dark way - depends on how you react to that kind of thing probably

But if you must, maybe you should watch a favorite movie or one you know is good. When Im really tripping I dont want to have to worry about plot.
Also when tripping things hit you different. People dying in movies regularly isn't bad, but tripping you could get more meaning than usual out of it.

LSD is more of a movie drug for me than shrooms. Generally speaking I have to say I don't enjoy the usual movies which are considered "trippy" when high b/c they are also often very serious and sophisticated. Most important is exceptional acting b/c any phoniness will get amplified. That's why documentaries are usually a good choice b/c people don't act but are pretty natural. Also emotions are important - funny and sad - and good action keeps me on the edge. With LSD I usually end up watching porn sooner or later

I would have to dose low, like around 2-3g to be able to pay attention. During the comedown I will watch something. This last trip I watched 2001:a space odyssey.
I have a question: Hal kills the crew BUT he did so after he found out Dave and co. Were going to shut him off. Kill him. HAL was talking to Dave prior to shut down discussion about the strangeness of the mission.
Now, Hal made a mistake with the array and the humans looked at him suspiciously and made the decision to shut him off. Hal talks about how humans are error prone but no one talks about shutting them down.
Is hal really murderous or was he defending himself?
Another one, hal knows what the mission is, make contact with alien life. He's the only one that knows, the crew were to find out upon their arrival. Did he want to make contact for selfish reasons or because he was worried that we humans would fuck it up. Obviously it has the frankenstein vibes intertwined.
Any thoughts.
Oh the ending seems to some sort of ego dissolution. Which would make sense as the obelisk appears during evolutionary stepping stones. The first tools, then space travel, then as Dave enters hyperspace and the final one at his death/rebirth.

I think the question is, does HAL fall into some terminal computer error, causing these specific reactions to situations as if it was coded that way, or does HAL become self-aware to a human level?
And if it's the latter, what does it mean for HAL to become self-aware at this level? Does he gain emotions along with this self-awareness? Does he develop an ego akin to his human counterparts?
Assuming he becomes self-aware, does his programming shut off at that moment? If not, how does he reconcile what he is programmed to do vs. what he is now "feeling" or "thinking"?
There's just so many questions to ask about HAL.

I suggest not. It was a bad album compared to animals, ummagumma, meddle etc...anything before the wall is pretty damn good IMHE. I like a couple of songs off "the wall", but that's it. Tripping while watching it would be a bad trip, dark, scary, and uncomfortable.

Some great suggestions here!
1. Wizard of Oz 2. Wizard of Oz lined up with Dark Side of the Moon (this is actually on YouTube lined up perfectly for free if you search Dark Side of the Oz) 3. Alice in Wonderland (Disney cartoon) 4. Labyrinth 5. The Wall 6. Twin Peaks (90s tv show Seasons 1&2). I wouldnt watch 1&2 on shrooms but youd need to watch them both to understand Season 3 which i can NOT wait to watch tripping. Sooo trippy wo shrooms.)
Anyone thats seen TP could understand. I am beyond fascinated with the Black Lodge. Its possible its a real place.
7. Through the Worm Hole tv show hosted by Morgan Freeman. Very deep thinking shit. Love it!

Usually I'm against watching things while tripping, but it can be great in the second half of acid (where often you have hours to fill and you aren't truly flying anymore.
I'd say what to watch depends on what you like to watch generally. Personally LOTR has been great on lsd, especially the Return of the King. Annihilation, Arrival and 2001 -or other similar movies- can also be great. Go with the mood though, if you're feeling like just staring at trees don't feel you have to do anything else,or if you\re feeling unstable/bad vibes mayybe dont watch anything too dark.

Poesía sin Fin / Endless Poetry by Alejandro Jodorowsky
This movie is pretty much made to be watched while tripping as it doesn't operate on a conventional rational level. Some scenes are pretty tough. This movie is exceptionally musical and covers a wide spectrum from the ugly, the disgusting, the WTF to the beautiful and divine. The memories of watching this flick will probably stay with me forever. Some scenes just move something very deep within me.

OOOhhh, looks like a good dark trip movie, in that case why not "The Last Circus", "Eraserhead", or "sante Sangre" ?

I wouldn't call it dark. It's actually very uplifting and hopeful.

Hmmm, I'll see it sooner or later, tripping or not. Intellectual films that make you think can get boring to me. I like a lot of special effects and dazzle, lol! Thanks for the link.

I can't for the life of me focus on a movie while tripping. I can listen to the same song on repeat the entire time, but a movie? That'll just get me anxious and restless lol. With that being said, I do put on Into the Spiderverse or Love Death Robots. But I don't watch em...it's just something to look at when I look up.
Do you all really focus on the movies?

I've enjoyed watching some Studio Ghibli films while tripping. Namely really light-hearted ones, like Ponyo. Might seem kind of kiddie-ish, but every time Ponyo shouts that she loves Sosuke or ham it adds a warm, loving twinkle to my vibe. PONYO LOVES HAM!!
Spirited Away is good, but some scenes might throw you off while tripping.
Oh, and during one of my first trips I decided it would be a good idea to watch Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, which really gets to me even when I'm not tripping. Don't know why I thought that would be a good idea. It's a trippy movie, but fuck it's a tear jerky for a lil' softie like me.

I do, but on the second part of a trip, once I feel I'm back and begin to be a little tired, I smoke some weed which boosts up the visuals and watch a movie. Last time, I watched Stalker by Tarkovski ... I had not seen it yet with that mindset and had another interpretation. I finished the movie (almost 3 hours) full of satisfaction and managed to sleep well, as if it had a soothing effect.

Yes I do. I actually rent movies for the peak of my trip! I LOVE watching movies while tripping.

Depends on how hard I’m tripping really. If I’m tripping hard enough I can barely open my eyes but I enjoy cartoons because of their wholesomeness
