To dunk or not to dunk?

I'm not asking why this happened because it's most likely from me checking on them constantly. Just curious if you would dunk this or not. The bottom is not colonized yet but this puppy wants to grow.

What makes you say it's bacterial? As far as the jars go I literally ordered them from Midwest. half pint wide-mouthed jars.

What exactly should I be looking at? It looks like healthy myc in person but what do I know I guess. Is it safe to go in my fruiting chamber?

Mix it in a pot or in the yard with potting soil, you might be able to get a couple flushes if even one because of the bacteria

The bottom was still colonizing, it wasn't stalled at all. I know bacteria usually creates a wall. I assumed the early pinning was from checking on them so often and exposing them to light.
Anywho, I just took it out and gave it a rinse. Smelled delicious and wasn't slimy or anything. I'll post another picture in a moment.

Not trying to knock anyone's knowledge here at all so don't take it the wrong way but where exactly do you see bacterial growth on this? Or was it just the fact that it didn't take over the bottom that made you think that?

Dont do this.
If it is pinning in the jar there must be some healthy mycelium in there somewhere. I am guessing because this is PF Tek you may not have anything else growing at the moment so I would spawn it to see what happens. What do you have to lose? (I have never done a PF tek FYI)
I also don't see the contam that Trip does but due to his accounts age I would be willing to trust them.

I have another 20 or so jars colonizing that aren't far behind, but I did really want to set the fruiting chamber up tonight.

And there isn’t any in sight, it’s just ppl say if your cake pins before 100% colonization it’s a sign of contams/bacteria but I honestly don’t think so as this has happened with my first cake grow and it’s producing beautiful fruits

Ya I probably will but I'd like to know if it is indeed filled with bacteria if it will transfer to my other cakes that will be joining it shortly.

So....is that a no, "don't do this" or a "no it won't transfer?"

I know personally I would probably do this if I was in your place and did not have any other grows that would be in jeopardy by doing so.
I live in a climate where cubensis does not grow naturally so whatever humidity and moisture they need naturally is not familiar to me so that is why I thought you could put your cake into fruiting conditions. If you are working with a non-nature induced cycle I would give it a shot. IMO.

Cool so that leads me to one more question. If it won't transfer and it's safe to eat then what's the big deal about bacteria lol?

The bacteria may not transfer, but it will weaken the areas it is in, and that will allow for other contaminations to take hold. There isn't an "immediate" threat, but it increases your chances of seeing things like Trich down the road.
Good to see your name Trip. Been away for years and here you are.
