I always liked doing the balloons, until somebody talked me into doing two in a row without taking a breath in between. I turned into a badly running machine for several unpleasant minutes, and have never touched it since. And that was almost 30 years ago.

But if I ever have to get a root canal, I'll pay extra for painless dentistry.

Whatever you experienced was likely because you were suffocating yourself by not breathing fresh air and had a major lack of oxygen in your blood/going to your brain. It likely wasn't so much the nitrous itself that turned you into a "badly running machine" as much as it was the lack of oxygen going to your brain.

Nitrous oxide is pretty safe when used in moderation, but one still has to breathe and get oxygen into their system   . I always take a few small "sips" of fresh air while inhaling my nitrous and I always take one quick full inhale/exhale of fresh air between my lung-fulls of nitrous.

I believe dentists deliver nitrous oxide at a ratio no higher than 70% nitrous oxide and 30% oxygen, it's usually less than that tho. When I inhale the stuff, I tend to fill my lungs with roughly about 80% nitrous oxide & 20% fresh air.

Good to hear.

How many days did it take for you to recover and feel "normal" again?

And did you say you were doing the nitrous with a friend? Did they experience any unpleasant effects like you did the days after?

Air has about 20 percent O2. So it's really more like 96 no2 4 o2. I'm not sure if the n20 disassociates into o2 in the air or your lungs. Something to ask here.

Ephesians 6:12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Psalm 12:6
The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
Hebrews 11:3
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
Revelation 3:11
Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

I was about to fix that lol, realized the mistake shortly after posting when reading over the post...meant to say 80% nitrous and 20% "air" (not pure oxygen lol) .
