Agar plates have too much residual moisture upon pressure cooker sterilization...
    #26943663 - 09/19/20 07:32 AM (3 years, 4 months ago)

I am using pasty's no pour potato agar tek.  Works great, but I'm using glass petris instead of glad mini rounds.  I wrap them with foil then place them on top of upside down ramikens well above PC waterline.  They come out with way too much added moisture.  Could I accomplish dry sterilization using an oven instead?

I've heard of people sterilizing empty glass petris in the oven, and then pouring agar in an SAB. I don't think you could do prepours in the oven though.

Here's a tek on oven sterilized glass petris

I've seen someone doing glass no pours where they used a tall tin container to keep the petis from getting wet in the pc, but I can't find it now.  Here's a recent tek i found on the same subject however.

Get some glad mini rounds,  5$ or less will save you a headache

Dump the pooled water in a sab.

I'd strongly suggest sterilizing the glass petris and pouring sterile agar in a sab or flow. Otherwise, you'd probably be better off just getting some glad mini rounds or "holy grail" no pours and following the teks.
