PrusaSlicer documentation says it accepts 3mf, stl, obj, and amf. No mention of .step

You know what I really want.

I want all the 3d printable guns.

All of them.

I'm definitely going to at least print and fire a 3d printed AR lower receiver.

I think you need to print fibre reinforced

Here these are not readily available. Our production partner has one and they needed special clearance to import it

I'm still looking into it, but I think they are currently legal on a federal level, and I seriously doubt my very red state has any laws against it. Import/export laws probably apply, but I don't think I'll have too much trouble finding an American site, but I may have to confirm my identity to download from them or something.

Even using PLA, I could probably use one of these models as the basis for my Animatronic game light gun.

No dpoubt there are websites out there with all that in one directory or zip.

I seen a video of someone printing a few and test firing a few with a pull string. Some worked but one very nastily blew up.

Better than ALL the printables are the ones with good reviews.

Oh, yeah. I would definitely test them at a distance for at least 100 shots, and then inspect it before I ever thought about hand firing.

I think an ideal SHTF 3d printed gun design, one that would be meant to be mass produced and passed around for people who don't havea gun, would probably be a 22, probably not autoloading because that takes too much fine tuning to get right, but that could be reloaded quickly, possibly simply by racking the slide for every shot.

Also, any plastic part touching the barrel is going to melt or burn if it gets hot enough.
