I appreciate you taking the time. I found some small ones on Amazon it does seem like the best solution since that's literally what they are made for. Actually, apparently there's like dozens of variations on this type of product on Amazon. Another rabbit hole for me to waste hours on

Don’t you need some special certs or something to sell spawn? I’ve thought about setting up a small oyster grow to sell to my brother in laws farm/produce stand. I’d much rather just make the spawn but I think the laws are a little more lax for mushrooms since they’re treated like veggies.
Yeah, knowing me, I would probably choke under the pressure and spill my master grain jar after only like the first few transfers hehe

I started to prefer using LI over LC because I can verify the agar plate is good first and I know my blending technique is proficient/sterile
I rarely get contaminates and it's faster for me than g2g

FWIW I still use g2g regularly but I fuckin love me some blended LI

I don't know why but every time i've tried LI it's taken fucking forever to colonize. I gave up. Plus it just seems like more work than g2g or LC.

It spins them really fast, resulting in a more quickly colonizing LC made up of thousands and thousands of strands of myc, but i'm sure you already knew that.

Theres a sweet spot for how blended you want it. I make a lc broth blend the agar and usually wait a dew days before using them.

That stir bar looks a little small, though. I like them way bigger.

That's what she said
Yeah, i know. I just never found it. Mainly because I only tried twice. The second time i set some aside to give a few days and then never used it again. I just went back to g2g and LC. Just seems to me that in the time it takes to prep for one plate of LI i could make up enough LC to inoculate the world

I dont do all the jars at once. I only line up like seven or 8 at a time in front of my filter. You could totally g2g from jar to jar in an SAB. Trying to run bags in an SAB will mostly just piss you off.
1 qt jar into 1 bag of spawn is crazy over kill. Might as well just use 5 jars. I avg about 18 bags per jar. Makes it way more worth your time and effort.
And no special certs needed where i am for selling spawn. Just form an LLC, get your EIN, biz license and biz bank account. Each state is different tho so do your research into what is required local to where you live.
I'm lucky in having a lot of commercial mushroom farms around me ranging from small start up to multi million dollar operations. The big boyz dont fuck with me but i have a few smaller farms i supply. The big boyz are all running white buttons. Smaller farms have to grow other "specialty" mushrooms like oysters and such. There's no competing with the white button producers around here. And I'm not set up to fill even one of the big white button operations spawn orders. They get that shit delivered on tractor and trailers, multiple pallets. Many tons of spawn.
Right now I can produce 36 bags a day. Monthly orders have been totaling 300-400 bags a month. I just picked up a new client tho and looks like monthly orders are gonna be in the 500-600 bag range. And I've only been losing a few bags per month. Like 10 or less.

Same. I like LC and grain's jump off speed more than LI. Just my experience too.

Just to be clear...I'm not denouncing LC. It's quite a powerful tool. I'm just trying to show ppl that a2g and g2g can be way more effective and efficient than it seems to get credit for around here. That's all.
