Those are good for pf tek yes. You don't need canning jars, just a jar with a wide mouth and a lid that closes air tight. So those jam jars are perfect.

Thanks for your response!
Okay, well in that case I think I'll settle for these.
Would it be an issue when pressure cooking? I thought cannning jars were specifically for that purpose? Couldn't the glass break?

Yes, you can pressure cook those jars. People in Europe and the UK don't usually use canning jars because they don't make them here, that's an US thing.

The pics above show a gallon jar, 1 liter jars use as spawn jars and small 150ml jars. All perfectly autoclavable and they're the same type of jar as the one you linked, it's the type of jar cultivators from EU use.
Those ones are ridicuously expensive though. If I were you I'd go shop around locally. Bought mine at a sort of chinese mall for cheap and they're quite good.

Some canning jars are lousy anyway, specially the Kerr ones. I've seen a bunch of them break in the PC over time. I haven't seen a single one of those jars in the pic breaking, though.

I use jars with the same lids. No problems. Keep them slightly open when in the pressure cooker. I put aluminum foil over it (but not down so far that is goes in the water or you might suck water up into the jar).
When I started out I would just use jars that where used for pickles before. Then I found that I can get them new cheaply online (they are called "twist off" in my country). But I never had problems with ones that were used for canned pickles, fruits etc. So if you're on a tight budged you can collect used jars, clean and use them.
When the pressure goes to zero I immediately take the jars (with oven gloves !) and screw them tight and leave to cool over night. That has always worked well for me.
Others say leave the jars in the cooker to cool them, but I like to screw them tight before they cool and suck in air - that way they only suck in air through the filter.

You don't need to PC the jars slightly open if you filter them.

Could you explain why I need to leave the lids slightly open? The guide I'm using doesn;t specify this step.

Just don't, he got it wrong. No need at all as long as you have some kind of filter on the lid or a dry vermiculite barrier and some holes on the lid if you're gonna go the PF tek route.

Yes, I am using basic PFTek. I'll be using a layer of dry vermiculite and piercing holes for inoculation. So I think I should be good, thanks!

I have been using Kerr and Ball mason jars for many years, and none have ever broke.
I didn't know it was hard to get mason jars in Europe.

You can be a dumbass like me and import them. The only redeeming thing on my part was that I was a noob at the time and also thought you needed canning jars for mycology.
The ball jars never gave me problems, and I used those as spawn jars. On the other hand, I used the Kerr ones for LC, and shit happens with these...

Another thing. I'm going to be using my Instant pot to sterilise 6 1/2 jars at a time. Should I use the steam release when doing this? Or should the valve be closed the whole time?

You need to vent the pot at the start of the cycle to get as much air out of the pot as possible. If there's air inside the pot it will never reach the right temperature and the sterilization will fail.
