Substrate. 2 quart verm vs 3 quart
    #26941001 - 09/17/20 04:44 PM (3 years, 4 months ago)

I have been looking at damion5050 and Frank's substrate guide and they say 1 brick coir and 2 quart verm. Frank uses gypsum while damion doesn't

Pasty is using 3 quart verm and 5 quart water and no gypsum.

Could anybody tell me which would be better, is it a matter if preference or? And what about the gypsum, I see most uses it but a few doesn't, and still get great results. I'm about to spawn my first tubs soon and want to know what to go with

It's debated but I found gypsum to never make a difference in any species I've grown.  Just my opinion though I haven't run extensive side by side tests.

It doesn’t really matter.

I quit using verm unless I make a ton of coir and it’s too wet.

All it really does is hold water which the coir does a good job of on its own.

I agree. When I first signed up here, it was all about gypsum lol.
