Soak vs boil - nutrient effects

As I pour off the dark brown boiled water from my oats it occurred to me I’m tossing out nutrients. Nowhere would a mushroom encounter boiled oats except under cultivation.
So I search and found no specific discussions regarding this topic.
So..
Would there be a benefit to a long soak vs boil? Would the increase nutrients change colonization time?
Please share your opinions, experience, and knowledge

If you want to get some use out of those nutrients, you can save your grain water for LC or agar.

Interesting, never thought of mixing it into agar, but it makes sense.

I gave it a go a few times. My cultures didn’t care for it. Diluted, straight, with and without dextrose. But this is my point. If we know it’s good why not leave it in the grains?

Using grain boil water for agar and lc is far from a new idea. Most of us dont use it and a lot of ppl whom were using have stopped.
I rarely use li or lc anymore. For plates i use agar and light dry malt extract.

There sre still too many nutrients in spawn anyway. You won't be using then all up in a grow.

I've been wondering this and was actually was going to make a post on it. Getting ready to do another grow here shortly.. and its been awhile.
I was thinking of just boiling the grains without soaking them prior. Im assuming this will not be an issue then.

Hasnt been a issue for me. Doesnt matter what type of grain it is i may be using i dont rinse and i dont soak. I just dump the grain into a kettle and boil. Only difference between different types of gain during prep is the duration of boil/simmer.

Honestly never tried using grain water in agar. Just throwing it out there. Works great for LC ime though
