I broke up the bags yesterday and they smelled sweet through the filter.
Just as expected.

I've owned and used cookers with toggle weights. Actually, now that i think of it, i must've been thinking through a haze when i responded yesterday. They absolutely come with a weight and i've used them plenty. If you hate the noise just tape something on the top. I used a few quarters. Then you can ride at 17 psi without any toggling.

Alternatively you can just purchase a stop cock and through that in there.

Nice. Did you try a few different sources? They can be had a few different places and they are really nice to have.

I'd bet you can pull it off. Why'd they say they they wouldn't? Curious

Was a couple years ago, a message like "this item doesn't ship to your country" type of deal. I wanted to get one because I wanted to reach higher psi, but then I realized I could make the "towel/dumbbel" combo kinda work and was able to maintain a steady 20 psi by adjusting the flame at the perfect size with a sensitive knob on the burner. The thing is I don't cook higher than 15 psi now, I like to brown the grain as little as possible. But it should be cool to have one stopcock for those times one runs across some shitty grain so I wouldn't have to babysit at all like I used to with the dumbbell.

Btw, what psi does the stopcock reach before releasing pressure? Sorry to derail a little.

It depends how strong or weak the spring is. I've seen some go off at unknown pressure (needle completely buried) and others go off around twenty eight.
