Where to transfer from this plate
    #26940745 - 09/17/20 01:44 PM (3 years, 4 months ago)

I got some good looking growth from this pin and made some transfers.

Now I'm at this plate and thinking I should transfer from these sections but wanted some feedback because I haven't been having great success with agar.

Transfers are good for isolating strains from MSS. In this case the growth looks pretty good. The spikey spiderweb lightning bolt is what you want. The fluffy is not as good (I think). Take as many transfers as you can and make it so you have a whole series of plates going (Make labels so you can tell them apart). Keep track of which plate has the most desirable genetics and propagate that one in the next run. The further you isolate a strain the more you can know about it.

Seems like a decent choice, but you got that whole plate - you might as well let it grow out and then make your selection.

10-12 looks iffy to me, I believe it's a good idea to take another transfer before putting it to grain/lc/li.

IME take transfers until there's uniform growth and no visible contamination.
