thought this was pretty cool looking. normal colored first flush, and some pale guys for the second flush.

I don't know that I'd eat those. Looks pretty contaminated.

looks like green and grey mold took over the fungi. if changed color its most poisonous. dont eat them or any grown since becoming quite moldy, even the normal colored caps, mycelium spreads the toxins to absorb the mold. I've almost had a heart attack i myself from poorly grown shrooms. it can cause issue.
so much compression on my heart it hurt to beat.

all that color on the substrate is from spores dumping all over the place during the first flush. are you sure the shrooms are fucked?

Maybe my eyes or your camera are broken, but that looks like some gross yellowy mold all over. I absolutely would not eat those mushrooms from that pic, and would probably consider tossing the first flush too.

Can you get a better picture of them close up, in focus? I feel like you would know if they'd been there long enough to mold. At least I hope...

Looks like mushrooms grown in very low humidity to me which are scaly and bruising.

are you concerned with the color? some have suggested they are unsafe to eat. you think it's just bruising?

Not really...they just look dry and bruised to me but I’m not there. If something were growing on them you’d likely be able to see it. How dry are the conditions in the grow space? Is dry, warm air circulating in their vicinity?

Yeah that’s not spores.
Definitely super super dry which causes the caps like that.
It’s probably ok to eat it.

mist it good & those will probably still mature the cracked caps aren't going to go away but I bet they'll still keep getting bigger if you provide them some h2o
I don't see any reason to think they are bad or moldy.

Good call I didn't think that could be mold!

Most always they are safe to eat unless they look straight rotten.
We eat cheeses with molds in them. The most dangerous part about mold is breathing in spores.
Your grow just looked too wet. I didn't see any mold anyways.

Alot of new people think we say to toss dirty grows because they are dangerous. In reality its because with certain molds they can drop such a spore load in your house that it can cause irritation in future grows.
Your substrate may have a bit of bacteria but until the bacteria weakens it enough for mold to grow its nothing to worry about.
