The liberty caps were mostly taken from a field in the middle of the grass, but also found what I'm skeptical is conocybe velutipes along with oother Lib looking ones along a disused and undisturbed grassy farm. track. Located in NE Scotland.
I take it the button looking ones aren't up to much?
First time pickers and we pulled too much up from the root from what I was told already 😐

You obviously have a mixed collection, with a few liberty caps and what appears to be Protostropharia semiglobata, Panaeolus sp. (probably P. acuminatus), Mycena sp., Entoloma sp. and what might look like Conocybe apala.
A good method when you are hunting mushrooms is to always take in situ shots and collect each species separately, trying to keep all collected specimens intact. Be sure to pull the mushrooms gently out of the substrate to get the stem base as well. Take notes for each species as well, make a description of texture and smell, and check whether there are trees growing nearby and of which kind they are.

Yeah, we did keep them in seperate bags to try to not cross contaminate to the best of our knowledge, but in future will definitely keep them seperate by the different site as well, because I'm sure most if not all fhe ones from the field we collected looked like Libs. As for the other tips I will take that all onboard thanks.
Taken a few of them out here and reshot them. Can you possibly tell which ones are definitely Libs and otherwise please? Thanks

Your last pictures appear to be all libs, but note that they are starting to dry out and thus are less viable for safe identification.
The reason for separating your finds is primarily to keep control over what's what, since mushrooms, especially the tinier ones, tend to start losing important features as soon as you pick them. Since some species can look very similar to each other, they can be more difficult to separate after a while in the same container.
It is quite handy to use a tackle box for collecting, and you could number each compartment so you can make notes on paper numbered according to which compartment they're stored in. For instance if you place some liberty caps in number 1, you make notes like "1. Psilocybe semilanceata, <location description>, date" and so forth. Then you'll have an easier job when you come back home to start making id requests.
