Getting started
    #26940220 - 09/17/20 07:05 AM (3 years, 4 months ago)

I knocked up a Uncle Ben's microwave rice pack with Burma spores, on 8\29 for shit's, and giggles, well it is like 80-90% colonized now, and not sure what too do now! Do I do a G2G,(do I need to use the same thing LBR? or can I use BRF?!?) or try and fruit it?!? What do I do, what do I put it in?? Can I fruit it in the bag?!? Please help!! Also I made up some AGAR dishes, using condiment cups, (10g AGAR 15g lmx PCed @ 15psi 35min) there is some condensation on some of the lids, (poured AGAR hot as hell). Can I still use them, and is there anything I can do to get rid of the condensation?? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

Yeesh. I've seen uncle bens work a couple of times. If you actually have some clean growth, I would take a grain of rice from the bag and put it on agar, clean it up, and put agar to some proper grains. I wouldn't G2G uncle bens. You almost certainly have some kind of bacterial contam in there. Wait for 100% colonization, mix with a little coir and cross your fingers for fruits.

You got the right idea getting into agar. I haven't had a condensation issue since I started using bods waterbath method before I pour plates.

So just coco? And use a mini tub? Don't you need like 3 layers? And is condensation ok on AGAR lids? Can I still use them? It's funny I stacked the contact's and only the top ones got condensation!!

uncle bens is a total shit show and one of the worst ways u can try to cultivate mushrooms. i really wish i could just knock whoever came up with that god awful idea upside the head and say dont be retarded. if u look here there is so so many failures it truely is a terrible method.  im willing to bet your just gnna have a bag of nasty ass contamination. so since you titled your post getting started i suggest checking out the getting started link here below. it has lots of solid teks that work great and have been proven over and over again by many rookie growers. the best thing u can do is follow good proven cultivators advice and teks here redit is literally the worst place u can possibly try to learn from so hopefully ul find something here that works for u cuz what ur doing now is a surefire way to failure. good luck and happy reading

Lmao!!!😂 ok Relax, don't blow a fuse! I was waiting on Amazon for Agar, and a PC, while I was waiting, I knocked up a bag, (not expecting nothing), well it took, and wasn't really planing on it, so I just asked for some suggestions, on what to do with it!!! And knocked up some AGAR dishes with Z strain, Burma, & S. African Trans 2 days ago!! Got some BRF jars in the PC cooling off now, prolly knock a few up tomorrow with some S.A.T.!😁
