I think that that movie and the sequel are great although quite different from the original comic. I actually perfer the movie.

Fritz is my avatar and it happens to be the name of my mini schnauser.

check out the movie "crumb" if you havent already
its a documentary about the guy who drew fritz the cat (r crumb) and its insane.
very worth watching

also check out American Splendor, it is about this comic that Crumb illustrated for his friend Harvey Pekar

very good stuff

R. Crumb is amazing in general

I have never seen the Fritz the Cat movies, but I know that the comics are absolutely hilarious
