What are these little guys?
    #26939939 - 09/17/20 12:04 AM (3 years, 4 months ago)

Habitat:
IDAHO from soil underneath this old railroad tie. The sod was recently transplanted and the wood chips are mixed, mostly conifer from my brother's tree service.

Gills:
I think the gills look grey. Attached.

Stem:
Scaley bottom. Hollow. Black Spore collection spots.

Cap:
Golden, brown, white... some look greyish. Umbonate- small veil on most. The woodchip side has fewer veilsand more cracks on top. The grass side have more veils and seem to split at the edge instead of the middle like the wood chip side. 🤷‍♀️

Spore print color:
Black

Bruising: none on stem.  Black on cap, I think.

Color that the mushroom bruises, if any.

Other information:
These guys have come and gone all year since we changed the landscaping. At first, they came up near some hare's foot ink caps, so I assumed they were all the same,  but these are not that. Thanks everyone!
Hopefully all of the pictures links work.

Ok. Hollow stem + black stain?
I'm trying to figure these out because there are so many species on my property and at our favorite camp sites.
I'm reading a lot, but pictures of different species look so similar. I really need to find a local group to hunt with. They're all afraid of someone taking their morel spots. 😆
