I am looking for feedback from anyone storing mush using vacuum sealing – what bags/rolls are you using? What price? Thanks

Got me this bad boy
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07CXKMGTK?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
It comes with bags but I’d suggest getting rolls of food saver brand bags.. it’s cheaper and you can make the bag as long as you want.
Tips:
When vacuuming, cancel and restart the suction at least twice before letting the seal function kick in to get all the air out
When you put the bag end in, click one side til it locks and then pull the bag towards the unlocked side so the bag is nice and flat before you lock the other side so there’s no creases and folds from slack
Do at least two seals and make sure the area where the seal is is free of dust and debri.
I like to check the vacuum sealed goodies about once a week to make sure no seals broke... that way if a seal does break, it’s only sitting exposed to air a week at most
Just had some tea from PEs that were at least 7 months old and were still top notch. Vacuum sealing is the way to go for long term imo

I have seen reported by others that they have had issues with the cracker dry shrooms tearing the bags at times. Have you seen this at all? I have been storing in gal Mason jars as well as making capsules that I store in the jars as well.

That might be an issue with cheaper made, off-brand bags That are thinner but I haven’t had a problem with food saver brand. Not saying it won’t happen from time to time but I wouldn’t let that dissuade you from going that route.. it’s a lot better space saver than jars or use it along with jars for added protection

This is my biggest concern. Food Saver's bags/rolls are very expensive. Are there any generic brand that has same specs? I found this one https://tinyurl.com/y6o6ju5e and the specs look impressive. Also how many oz do you store in one bag? I have been doing 1 oz and 2z

Granted I’ve only tried a few off brands and there’s a bunch out there so I’m sure there’s cheaper ones that work as well as food saver but I stopped trying to figure it out.. I really don’t need more than 60’ of 8” bags lol so it was cheaper for me to just pay The $30 and not worry about it anymore, but if you’re going to use a shit ton of saver bags, maybe it would be worth it for you to search out comparable brands.
I’ve easily stored 100+ grams in a singe custom sized bag.

Have you tried using Food Saver reusable vacuum bags or containers?

I almost got the bags when they were out of the rolls at target but decided against it... you’re talking about the ones with the little port and air pump, right?

Dunno how I didn't think of this before, simple and brilliant.
