I am thinking on getting for Christmas presto-23-quar from the US. At this moment the stock is out and they might start manufacturing again in November. But if the price triple from US to EU, I'll probably have to find an American friend to send it to me after I buy it. I am not letting myself ripped off no matter.

Maybe I'm exaggerating but the best place for me to look is Amazon Nederland and most of the PC's under 100 euro are very bad rated and they look bad. Buying it from another country would add the shipment and would of gone over my price. The model I have has few hundreds of reviews, mostly good ones. Unfortunately I let my self tricked by expert influencers in mushrooms but still think is the best PC price - quality. Obviously I'll probably struggle until I'll get a new one but life without struggles is boring :smile:

You can use the syringe right into the grains but you’ll prob get at least some level of contamination. Seems like only a few places sell consistently clean syringes. That’s not to say it won’t work, I’ve fruited plenty of bacterial jars. But if mold shows up it’s done.

I just snagged a 21 liter Presto pressure cooker. I have been searching for months and everyplace seemed to be sold out. This covid pandemic has created a shortage. All these Americans stuck at home tending their little gardens, want to can and pickle their bounty... thus a run on pressure canners/cookers. I found one on Amazon, which was "used" with blemishes on the exterior for $65... but it came in perfect condition. Keep trying on Amazon, and something eventually shows up.... or try Ebay, used ones at inflated prices also show up regularly. Make sure you check the "rating" for pressure, seems to be a lower pressure standard for European markets.
But lower pressure just means longer cooking times.
