Hi everyone, I am new to this website and to the whole wonderful world of shroom cultivation. My qst is basic: can anyone offer a very brief description of the most popular strains of mushroom spores available through the main vendors in terms of potency and expected effects. I have already looked for some info on the charecteristics of each strain, but there is little to no info available on their websites or for that matter on the world wide web. Can anyone lead me in the right direction as I am planning to make a purchase of spore soon. Thanks in advance for any info.

When it comes to potency species are pretty much the same. ie. P.Cubensis EQ - Strain is not more or less potent than P. Cubensis Burma - strain. I like Creepers , I think that is a good strain to start with. Or you could search around and see what others prefered to start out with

They are all pretty similar.
If its your first time and doing cakes, id recommend a strain like, PF, TC, B+, EQ, GT, Malabar The strains like those seam to fruit best off cakes.
Thailand mushrooms seam to not wanna flush great on cakes, but overrall tend to be more potent.
You shouldnt have much trouble from strain to strain getting it to fruit and potency is minor. Pick one you think looks fun.

Thanks everyone for your replies. So as I understand it there is no negligible difference in overall effect for shroom strains: for instance Golden Teacher will be exactly the same as Gulf Coast and so on down the list of strains. Could it be that strain differientation more to do with taste than potency ?
