They're acting,  dude. The characters are being sexualized.. not the actors. You act like the actors are being tricked or something.

I really dont see the point even, like, why if you are trying to send the message that little kids should not dress the way they do in the movie and shouldnt dance how they do in the movie, do you hire little kids to do it.. So obviously counter-intuitive. Couldve easily raised the character ages to 13 or something without altering the plot and hired some 18 year olds. Theres tons of them that could pass as 13 no problem. Why hire actual children? Just so blatantly hypocritical that im shocked no one brought it up in the pitch conference.

It's too far imo. It's like if peta hired someone to beat a dog and filmed it and was like 'See? Sad, huh'

Now you're talking about dancing.  Before it was sexualization.

I agree.  The film is about 11 year old girls being sexualized.  Even though they're acting, they're 11 year old girls being sexualized.

The characters are 11 year olds being sexualized.  The actors aren't.  Clearly, none of you have the first clue how it works.  It's like you think that they trick children into doing things that they don't understand and then film it.  That's not at all how it works.

These actors work at this.  They study the role and the place the role serves in the movie.  They realize what the character is supposed to be showing an audience, and they methodically make that happen.  It's not like the actors are being victimized or harmed.  They are fully aware of the image that they are there to portray.  They actively work to portray that image.  The fact that you can't separate the actor from the character is only a testament to the efficacy of their craft, although I tend to think that perhaps the people who are most offended here are the ones who were most titillated by the portrayal.

This says a lot about how you view the movie.  You feel shame.  I didn't when I watched the movie, but I suppose if it spoke to portions of yourself that you don't like, it could provoke shame.

The actors are 12 and 14 and their acting like 11 year olds.  They are normalizing the sexualization of little girls and I don't think that should be normalized.  Most people don't think of little girls like that.

I don't watch TV. I've never even heard of that Toddlers in Tiaras show until you mentioned it. If I did and didn't hear about any details like I did with this movie I wouldn't have even expected it since so many toddler girls like to play princess and shit like that. If it's anything the same then I say the same thing about that show.

But I have seen plenty of democrats and liberals talking about this movie as well. I'm not surprised you don't see as much of them though considering sexualization of kids is something that goes on in leftists universities. Trying to make pedophilia just "another marginalized sexual orientation" and things like that. Of course, I'm not saying their aren't plenty of pedo right wingers. But I don't see any normalization attempts coming from the right. Any right wing priest that gets caught doing some nasty shit ends up going into hiding and having his case buried somehow. Then again, I don't ever really look into the politics of any of these cases because I don't care to, so they could almost as easily be democrats since there's actually a pretty high amount of catholics that are registered democrats. Around 50% I think.

If they weren't in front of a camera, and they did everything mentioned in the movie for just some dude asking them to, would you feel the same? You remember the movie Cannibal Holocaust? They killed real animals in the movie, but if it was supposed to make you feel uneasy, it was just a film, bro.

If you're comparing it to cannibal holocaust you're so triggered you can't even make sense.

If they actually abused the girls in the movie then maybe it would be something you could try to use in a comparison

The principle is the same. Point was they did something that's supposed to make everyone uncomfortable. But they didn't use props, or animated characters. They used real kids. Like I said above, if the camera wasn't there and these girls were just doing all this in front of some guy, how would you feel about it?
