Identifying discoloration on substrate (is this OK?)
    #26937676 - 09/15/20 05:52 PM (3 years, 4 months ago)

Hello All,

So excited to find this forum! My friend and I have been growing. My 2nd time and his 1st.  Of our 12 jars have come along nicely and we are on our second flush. However, one of the cakes is exhibiting a dark brown to black looking crust like substance on the top of the cake. I cant seem to find any reference photos in the forums that resemble it but though it would be wise to ask the hive! If its something to worry about I want to remove it ASAP

The first photo is with a flash and the second is without but they are photos of the same cake. Thanks in advance for the feedback!

Did you just pick some full grown fruits? It looks like spores to me.

Edit: ok reread that yeah you're on your 2nd flush. Its just spores that dropped from the first flush nothung to worry about.
