Presto 23qt walmart
    #26937519 - 09/15/20 04:39 PM (3 years, 4 months ago)

Just found out the Presto 23qt is on sale with walmart for $100 flat, figured I'd share the find in case anyone else has been looking for a large PC at a relatively cheap price. From what I've read it's a good one and this is the cheapest I've found one since I cant find any used anywhere near me.

Also any tips for someone new? I've creeped this site for a while but never posted anything, just wondering if there are any unspoken rules, etiquette, etc. for posting and such.

Thanks in advance

Just use the search function tons and don't be a dick.

Users here are pretty good at stopping misinformation so usually if you get minimal responses it's because people have nothing to add. People tend to get pissy when you ask the same question over and over even after you got an answer.

Upload all your pics here and not on a third party site.

And try not to plug up the search engine by making multiple threads on the same subject.

Hey Man!  Welcome.  I've recently started actually posting rather than lurking as well.

That is the same pressure cooker I started off with in highschool 8 YEARS AGO.  It has been amazing.  I'm still using it to this day.  Only issues with Prestos is the sealing ring needs to be replaced every once in awhile... apparently.  I still haven't replaced mine and I've run it over 30 times now.

It's the perfect size and does just fine until you're ready to upgrade to an AA.  You're going to love it.  In fact, my drunk ass is about to buy another one because you posted this.  Might grab the warranty too so I can abuse the fuck out of it and get a replacement.

Do you think this will be the same price a few months from now?  I don't technically need one now, but I REALLY want to have a backup.  Cheers!

Go to Goodwill, Value village you can get one that does 8 jars under 10$ I was almost tempted to buy a second and third one just because they are cheaper than the PC fuses you tend to blow out learning the correct amount of water to time and temperature.

Presto 23 is probably the best value of all PCs, I can manage to fit 25 quarts of spawn(6 bags) in one. The next best value I'd say is the AA930

Yes, Two of them trying to sterilize jars far longer than they needed. It was also a water issue. I try to do 1:15 total 15 heating 1 hour at 15 psi. It equals 3 cups of water with one left over. Before I was messing up with only two cups of water.

Yeah I got a smaller presto a while ago for general purpose as well as this hobby of mine, so I've gotten a good bit of use out of it already, just wanted something with more space and the ability to use multiple pressure cookers if need be. as for the price idk, depends on if its still here, there are like 15 different listing for a presto 23 on Walmart and they all have different prices, from the amazon standard of like 200 to some for like 80 that are out of stock. this is the first I've seen this or I'd have mentioned it a while ago I imagine lol.

I've checked a few times but I was really wanting to upgrade the size of my current presto, wanted to be space efficient so I wanted to get as big as a could for as cheap as I could. Higher capacity = more jars = fewer running = less water, electricity, and space used. if I could have gotten some kiln sized industrial pressure cooker from the price of 2 of these I would have for sure taken that deal lmao
