You remember when I told you I chucked my RDU and PHV LC's? Well I made some new ones and holy hell they took off. I could go to bags right now, but I'm not going to have time to prep sub for a few days.

that sux bro you. if u have room for a deepfreezer either in a garage or basement i suggest getting one. i love having all my sub and casings already made up and in there and i can just pull them out and let them unthaw when i need them its soooo nice. i made up a shit ton of my sub and casing back when i was hurt in december and im gnna continue to do that. its just so easy to grab let it unthaw sit for 24 hrs and spawn. i imagine it could be done with your bags as well.

Strange problem with this tray. Caps are coming up looking rotted. Not sure what's causing it. Casing is not overly wet and they haven't been misted.has anyone seen anything like this before?

Gotta be bacteria unless something in the sub is staining them.
Alright guys it’s that time again. I took two off the rainbow and I’m happy with them so far but the Australian doesn’t have any spots popping out at me.
I’m thinking the big circular colony towards the bottom left.
Any opinions?

Hello all, a question.
I'm a little concerned about my current cultures. Would you say that about 1.5mm growth on agar at 23-24 °C is normal ? I expected it to be faster for Pans.
It is MS and 1st transfer from MS. They look healthy to me, but only grow about 1.5mm in 24 hours.
Agar is 12g LME + 5g oatmeal flakes (cooked and filtered) for 1 liter.

So the spore germinated in 24 hours or the first transfer has grown 1.5mm in 24 hrs. Either way that’s fast
24 hrs is questionably fast for spores to germinate. Also it takes awhile for a transfer to recover give it more than 24 hrs. 23-24 c is fine

Here’s sum more pan TX (ms) got sum nice fruits for cloning but again with the sterile bulk I’m getting signs of contam before I harvest the first flush. I’m gonna try and go back to pasteurized bulk now that I’ve got more Myco time and I’m about replacing all my hood filters and clean rooms filters.

Oh, sorry, I wrote wrong. The spores took a couple days to germinate, like the first signs after 3 days.
And I revived a plate that originated from the same print that was in the fridge for about 16 months when I had to not enough time to study it until now.
So both the new germinated ones and the one revived grow about 1.5mm a day.
They were all started a week ago. Here is the one that comes from the transfer of the fridge plate:
The plate 16 months ago where this transfer is from looked quite dead, but I hope this is not mold I'm growing here.
Also asking because it is recommended to have the wispy and fast phenotype. It seems wispy but I don't know how fast they should be.

It depends on a lot of things: the strain, nutrients used for agar. Sometimes different species like different nutrients or more or less. Sometimes you get a fast culture sometimes a slow one sometimes it performs poorly on agar but well on grain but usually if it’s slow on agar it will most likely be slow on grain too.

Hey pan thread, excited to join the official thread.
Wanted to share these two pics of Pan.cy myc (my first cloned run), it's the second day since adding grain to bulk.
The grain sat for a month colonizing, and the myc seemed super slow and not very active. I mixed the bags a few times but it never recovered very well. I figured it was time to let if free on the bulk and it seems super happy to be jumping off the grain.

Is there a good way anyone here knows to fight bacterial blotching on the caps.

Gotta be just short genes. Those caps are thick especially in the back, they look like they’ll drop monster prints.

Attempted a clone on the big’n in the middle back you know the one. Inner stem sample. Not too good with pan clones we’ll see how it goes.
