Any of ya'll actively dating? Like do you hide tubs when you have people over? Or maybe wait a few dates to bring them back to your place, then spill the beans when they are there? Just curious.

I probe their psyche quite a bit before trusting them enough with that information.
Gotta know they are cool with it before risking my ass.
Its worth it when you can trust someone.

I’d get way too paranoid if I let people know, especially girls I’m dating.
I just have a mysterious locked room in the back of the house. Its where I “store stuff I didn’t want in the garage”.
The worst thing is that I play poker a lot and so I spend a lot of time with other regulars but nobody really hangs out outside the casino. When I first started cult I told one of the guys and ended up kinda becoming friends but I don’t want him to know where I live so I have to do some out of the way shit to not be a dick about it.

I live with my girlfriends so they know. I got to introduce both of them and one of my roomies to mushrooms. It's not illegal down here which is nice. I can grow my weed and my mush and my cactus in peace.
Speaking of growing, gonna have some nice pin porn here in a day or so looks like

Is there any difference between seed grain and feed grain? I just grabbed some winter rye from my usual place and they gave me seed grade

My seed grain works just fine. I know some people on here have used fungicide treated seed grain that is dyed different colors like green or pink and the general consensus is that it doesn't work.

Aside from potential fungicide seed grain is more clean and less broken up.

Straight coir, I see lots of more complex recipes that seem like unnecessary effort, money, and/or time. I didn’t see the purpose being my first try at mycology. Keep it simple! Perhaps some mushrooms strain or varieties it will matter, but best I can tell for most Cubensis strains some coir and some good spawn will put you in the right direction... mind you I have shit for experience up to this point... SO I probably am talking out my ass here and just got lucky!

I guess as long as it’s not a funny color I’ll just try it and hope for the best lol.

anyone ever tried to clone from store bought shrooms?
Just tried this one a shitake, a portebello, a oyster and a chantarelle.
The insides were bruising during the biopysy, and the insides were not dried out.
Anyone else got experience with this?

sure its easy. what I do for cloning is to PC 2-3 jars of water. then in my SAB, I'll take my clone sample and dunk it each jar of clean water to rinse it off. then onto agar she goes. works well for wild fruits too. make sure to take the tissue from inside the fruit where it hasn't been exposed.

should have searched first of course, but ended up doing so. Found a few threads.
also found this quote:
"Commercial mushroom farms tend to grow out their mycelium to the point of senescence prior to fruiting, so clones taken from the grocery store usually perform poorly if at all." RR<

didnt do the rinse part because i was doing a biopsy, but will add rinsing them for my next attempts. didnt think it was relevant to clean the surface
placed em on a plate that i brouht in the SAB, opened em up and cut out a small piece
