Dune cyan

Spotted Amanita being dried by a squirrel up in a tree.

Turned around and spotted this. Notice in the background.

Makes me think Squirel’s prefer to trip rather than dry out the food right next to it.

The central coast has nothing happening yet. Even the aminita aren't popping yet. At least along my regular logging roads.

So I went out and bought a dehydrator. I had the shrooms drying with fan for 24hrs. A. Do you think Its ok to dehydrate after fan drying? b. How long should I dry for? Thinking 3-4 hours as I have already dried via fan. Box says 2-6 for mushrooms.

I’d say lowest setting. Wait until cracker dry. The time will depend on the amount of product in the machine. Then turn off, and wait an hour then turn it back on for an hour or so. It kinda like burping weed in my mind let them cool and bag em up for long term storage.

Its supposed to go down to -7 celsius in Baeo City here tonight (that's 19 farenhieght for you guys down south). If the ground freezes hard that's gonna be it more or less this season. Man it's not even Halloween yet. Everything is f-uped and weird this year.

Reason for deletion: the pellies will like it.
had a crazy trip tonight walking around with a flashlight found a couple new patches. spotted these little things and poked around.
i could feel them got sucked into this place. felt like i had found a satellite patch and was getting close to the mother but got deja vu really bad walking around this building and i left
pics suck but i tried. damn that is a tricky spot pretty dry in the valley look under the leaves
i think this one is allenii:

I leave all mine on a tinfoil sheet (to collect all spores) and air dry them with only a ceiling fan adjacent to them for 3 days, always cracker dry for me.

Most are at this stage in my patch. They were watered early and daily.
So many locations this year have nothing. Its far too dry to support pins or fruits to maturity. Only locations on the north side of buildings where some leaf litter holds in what moisture the area has gotten, or low lying areas where water drains to, which has kept the ground saturated more than the areas around it. I remember last year a similar thing happening with cold dry spells that totally stopped some nice flushes in their tracks, but last year there was enough rain to develop lots of pins and fruits to maturity before it dried out.

mcasa, I have the same presto dehydrator. I run cy’s for 6-8hrs at 95-105. Variation depends on how many mushrooms I’m drying, how wet they are to begin with and the relative humidity in my apt.
Even if you run it too long you are not going to damage any of the actives at those temps. It’s far worse to not dry them all the way than to dehydrate for too long.

Made a trip to Oregon coast for a week, and on the final day I ran into someone who was kind enough to share some Azzie knowledge and even shared some of his findings with me since they were in abundance. Anyone interested in some help pm me, I’m not a gatekeeper like the majority here. Azzies were popping and found some just before my last day in Oregon.
