Incredible baeos! So jelly! Print them for sure!
Checked on the coast and it's kinda going but a large amount of the areas are heavily trampled. It's gonna be a tricky year locals and weekend warriors be darned.

Thinking back I found more cyans on the beach today than azzies... That's a new one

Those azzies make my mouth water. I have been trying so hard to find them to no avail lol maybe next year. Its so cold by the coast I always leave earlier than I intend to.

I second that. Why do you say they are actives?

I thought that they were because to me, the cap color matches up, they arnt wavy but I assumed they were just younger ones, the stems are white and I found them in grass dunes along the coast I was waiting for a spore print off one I picked before collecting more or anything
I didnt notice any bruising on the one I picked which makes me skeptical

Gloves aren't necessary. You can't get sick from touching many many toxic species.

The risk is fairly low but I do know people who get hives from touching certain mushrooms. Definitely doesn't hurt to wear gloves.

Well little update, you guys were right
Checked the spore print when I got home (I take a little tupperware container with a piece of paper in it for doing spore prints in the field, usually by the time I get home theres a light enough print to get a color ID off it) and it was a more orangish red colored spore print so definitely not active
My bad!

Finally hit a decent patch today. Hidden deep in grass and blackberry on a bed of old chips.

Some great specimens. Still uploading and taking pics. Was getting worried with the cold weather incoming.

I dried my mushrooms and put them in jars with desiccant period after 3 days I checked it out and upon opening them up I smelled something sour. Can anyone tell me if I should continue to dry these out or if it's better to just throw them away??

Sour smell is most likely bacteria or contamination, how long did you dry them for? On the cultivation side of things this happens occasionally when the mushrooms arnt thoroughly dry and theres still some moisture inside
Or possibly they just had an infection when growing that continued to spread and didnt die off from the drying
Personally I wouldn't eat them but if you were really desperate I think a tea would mabye be semi safe if boiled long enough? That seems extremely risky though

Thank you buddy for all the advice. I'm going to discard and search harder, hopefully can dry out batch 2 and 3 properly prior to throwing in jar with desiccant.
