Those are most definitely Azzies. Like you said, the nipple and convex shape are dead giveaways. Cyans at that size will always have some erratic waviness to them, and eventually all become upturned, whereas azzies will eventually become slightly flat/convex with age, but mostly staying convex and never having weird shapes.

Close to Astoria but not on Fort Stevens.

Hmm. The dune grass cyans I've seen almost all look exactly like those pics. In any case, definitely a nice score though. Been thinking about making a trip further north

Within 1 mile of yesterday's find, another patch blessed me. Specimens were very light and large, LL for short. I am kinda losing my mind with the sheer amount found within 24hours. Good luck to you all.

I hit up some of my best spots and the best areas were completely demolished and over run by homeless encampments. So I hit up a bunch of parks I had never been to and found next to nothing. With all this rain I would have expected better.

Forgot to add this pic, somebody had come through and literally picked and thrown most of the mushrooms in a patch, granted none of them showed any bruising but it's still sad

They picked and threw them because they are not what they're looking for.

I've seen nothing in my local and I've been out every day checking. Honestly I think we need some sustained soaking rains, we've had rain where I am but its been sporadic and all the habitats look pretty dry rather quickly after the rain. I think that is why we are seeing people score in some areas but skunked in others. Just my $0.02.

Yeah but like they dont have to pick every single one, they can pick just one in the patch to check and alot of times you can bend it and check bruising on them without ripping them up if your careful mabye I'm to gentle when I'm checking out fungi but I like to get down to the ground and use a stick or my finger or something to bend it a little to check out the stems and gills and then see if it bruises before picking them when possible

Those people are going to rape real patches if they ever found them so let them rape the bad ones and hope they never find the right ones.

Well I hope I didn't walk on a patch that just had not fruited yet, I was all up in them bushes and shit looking in what felt like fields of woodchips, fields on slopes that is.
There was this one park I went to about oh 15 years or so ago in Seattle, it was quite large and the mulch was very thick and elaborate, there were police walking around using their walkie talkies trying to track mushroom hunters. It had a very high bridge that connected to sections of the park above one of the parking areas, it was a pretty park. I wish I could just remember where it was lol.

True words. These are the people that rip clusters out of the ground and toss the mycelium off to the side like an unwanted step child, forming a trail on the ground to their car, nearest bus stop, or 711

To forgive, learn, share and express. This is the only thing a man such as myself can ask for. First modest finds of the season. Seems early still for many spots. Not for these lovelies.
