I have two shoe boxes both have myc on the surface but it’s all fluffy mycelium with pretty much no beads of water, I think I may have made my substrate later too thin please give me some input Box 1

The mycelium will colonize most of the top before beads of water start to appear.
Did you mist for 20 seconds or so after putting a pseudo-casing? It does look a bit dry to me so I don't think another small mist will hurt. In the SFF tek shaper shows how it should turn a noticeable shade darker. Once you see this on the top you should be good to go.
The thinner substrate may cause it to dry out quicker - I'd recommend using more substrate next time around (I use 100g coir prepped with 450mL boiling water and mix with 2 myco pints of spawn. Then I spray the top layer about 60 sprays after putting the pseudo casing [1/3 of the coir])

Yes I did I misted the hell out of it, I’m just paranoid I guess. I have been reading up on it and I’ve heard that if your substrate level is thin it will most likely dry out pretty quick

And yeah I kind of messed up I used 1 and a half pints of spawn and 1 and a half pints coir, plus another pint for the top layer. The shoe box is actually a 7qt instead of a 6 qt so I ended up with the thin layer

Just wait until the surface is more colonized. If there's no beading at ~80% coverage mist away.

The additional quart of volume in the shoebox won't make a big difference. Maybe doesn't help in this case but you should be fine if you use 2 pints spawn to 3 pints coir like the original tek
I agree with gastronomicus. You might as just to wait until it finishes colonizing or pins start showing up and gauge whether it needs a mist from there.

Spawn to bulk ratio is pretty flexible. I am in the middle of a 1:5 grow now (3 quarts spawn to 15 quarts coir/manure/verm) and they are coming out well. Agaricus farmers go up-to 1:10 I've heard. Anything from 1:1 to 1:6 would be good for home grows I think. I wouldn't be concerned about adding too much or too little spawn as long as nothing was absurd. I've also heard that the optimal depth is 3-4 inches of substrate but there's nothing wrong with a bit thinner. I would be worried more if it were too thick.

Well I went ahead and did a light mist over it just enough to see beads of water on the surface, hopefully I didn’t over hydrate I’m gonna try to keep the boxes closed until I see pins
